About me
Welcome! I go by Pegasus DM and I'm a professional Dungeon Master and freelance designer. I have been creating worlds since I was a kid, and once I learned about Dungeons and Dragons, it was a dream come true! I have been a DM and player in multiple campaigns and one-shots so whether its a custom game, or a module, I am the DM for you. I specialize in helping new players get their footing and introduce them into the wonders of Dungeons and Dragons. You are charged with investigating the Vestiges of Divergence as you and your friends travel the war torn world of Exandria after the Great Calamity. Make friends or enemies with a rival party and fight monsters as you uncover the mysteries behind the Vestiges of Divergence, especially now that you have aquired one of them... the Jewel of Three Prayers.

New to DND? I have tailored this campaign specifically for new players to get you rolling dice and having fun within 10 minutes! Half of the current party are brand new (:
We had a fantastic session last week where the party met each other and introduced themselves. We have a Half Orc Barbarian, Elf Wizard, Goliath Rogue, and Dragonborn Paladin! Do not worry though, I allow doubling up on classes or races and in fact encourage people to have similarities to build roleplay opportunities! It is still the perfect time to join the party (:

Gameplay details
Before your first session players will be given the Lines and Veils document to help determine where each player stands. In addition, players can use X,N, & O cards to let me know during play if they are uncomfortable with a topic. Players can message me at anytime through Direct Message on Discord.
You will build your character prior to the first session in Shard Tabletop. I will be fully available to aid and answer any questions on discord to help. Alternatively, you can use one of the pre-generated ones I have built. If you are bringing one, use Standard Array or Standard Point Buy for stats. Starting gear is per players handbook. How to prepare

The session starts tonight Wed at 6PM PST (9PM EST). The party just searched through a shipwreck filled with undead creatures and found a chest filled with gold and a talisman tied to Orcus the Lord of Undead. They also encountered two harpies searching for the talisman and quickly dispatched them; however, a winged kobold saw what was going on and tried to bargain for it unsuccessfully and decided to instead report back to its master. Who is the master? Where will the party head next? Come join to find out (:
Gameplay session is coming up tomorrow and we just need 1 more player! Hope to see you all there. Here is my last bit of information about what to expect and the style of Combat/Roleplay/Puzzles/Experience.
The session starts this coming Wed at 6PM PST (9PM EST). The party just left the starting city of Jigow and reached the Emerald Loop Caravan to take a rest on their way to Bazzoxan. They are in search of answers about the jewel they found, directed by the goblin Elder Colbu Kaz “Bazzoxan is a grim town under the control of the Aurora Watch, not a pleasant place to visit. But if what you tell me is true, what you have found is a Vestige of Divergence, an enchanted relic from the time of the Calamity known as the Jewel of Three Prayers. People do not stumble upon Vestiges without a reason. And there is no place in Xhorhas where the memory of the Calamity lingers more strongly than in Bazzoxan.”
There they learn that there is mysterious group with an insignia of 2 overlapping coins that were behind the attempt to steal the jewel from them and are known to collect unique artifacts and items to sell on the black market (which Bazzoxan relies on to maintain the balance with the endless stream of evil fiends climbing out of the rift in the city). Their base is somewhere in The Barbed Fields, and seem to have members tied to the orc and goliath tribes that raided Gorga and Leon's respective tribes. Who is the mastermind? Last we saw the hot crossed buns they had encountered a Orc named Orog and Goliath named Stone, who had taken the Jewel from them. The party engaged them while Ayo and her party fended off a Vrock. The battle was intense as the Orog was able to get on the horse while knocking people back using his giant great axe; however, Milo was able to cast spike growth to prevent his escape and force him to fight. Orog was able to bring Leon and Raan, near death, but ended up perishing by the hands of Dal. Stone fell soon after. The party later escaped from a darkness covered creature flying in the sky, and even saw a dead one turning into goo on the side of the road. They woke up to a red moon that gave them all an eerie feeling, but soon arrived at the Caravan Emerald Loop where they met the family of goblins and spoke to a group of caravaners selling goods. The party bought some supplies and also performed for the protectors of the forest, the Acorn sisters. In return they gave them each of the performers a charm of vitality. They also met other members of the Wastewalkers clan where they traded a +1 dagger they found for a +1 scimitar.
Last we saw the Hot crossed buns they had a bonding chat with Ayo and her party where relationships blossomed between Ayo/Leon and Dal/Galsariad. In the morning they noticed two of the Aurora watch guards had left in the middle of the night towards Bazzoxan. Papa Drazagorr also gave a bangle to Raan during their goodbye. On their final leg of the journey to get to Bazzoxan they encountered a bandit group led by Six-Knives that ordered them to pay the “road ’n’ infer-structure tax.” Leon bargained to get them down to 15g and pretending they were afraid of Six-Knives, and were able to get through the group without any further conflict. Once arriving at the city, the guards let them in once they heard they were a group of capable fighters and almost immediately encountered a group of gibbering mouthers. With the help of a knight named Verin, the party dispatch the Gibbering mouthers, although they lose both guards who instantly die when engaging the monsters. Afterwards they go to the infirmary to check on Ayo and her party. They look quite banged up as Ayo is slightly injured, Maggie, has multiple bite marks on her, and Irvan is crest-fallen because of his inability to do much during this entire adventure so far. Raan stays to comfort them as the rest of the party goes to the Temple and meet Foghome the Gardener. He guides them to meditation as they all have a shared vision once more.
You see a young human, curls plastered to his brow by sweat, sinking to his knees in the garden. His eyes betray a lack of sleep, and despite the softness of his features, he looks like he has experienced more pain than any one person should bear. “They’re counting on me,” he whispers. “They need me, but I’m exhausted and frightened. What do I do? Please. Someone tell me—what do I do?” The moons race across the sky, soon replaced by the angry red sun that rises before a fateful battle. Five silhouettes approach the temple, and one claps the kneeling figure on the back. Their voices are muffled, as if coming at you through water, but you see them embrace, standing strong, before marching off to war

Last we saw our heroes, the hot cross buns committee members meditating in the Temple woke up from a vision to find a face looking down at them all asking for a light. There seemed to be something… dark and mysterious about her… but nobody could quite put their finger on it. Dal cast a firebolt to light her cigarette and the party introduced themselves. The potential for magical items and coin from exploring Bazzoxan and helping Verin with the town seemed to interest her, but that was before they all met Aloysia. At the same time this was happening Raan was approached by the cleric running the infirmary telling her in secret that the Jewel of Three Prayers that they hold is a very important artifact tied to the Calamity and 3 Gods imbued their power into the Jewel to help their champion, and simply did not want to mention it earlier when the area was crowded in case people with… bad motives overheard. Afterwards Raan met up with the party at the Gatehold Barracks where they competed in matches of shooting and wrestling, meeting Chad and Brock, the strongest and bro-iest soldiers of the bunch. There they also met Question of the Cobalt Soul and Aloysia from the Consortium of the Vermilion Dream. Question was initially part of the Cobalt Soul Expedition into Betrayer’s Rise, but arrived late and did not go in and now believes her comrades to be dead. She is a realist about this, but if they are indeed alive, offers the party a reward for bringing them back alive. In addition, there was a house that they supposedly stayed at before entering with a contact she has been unable to get in touch with since her arrival a few days ago. She asked the party to investigate if they have a chance as it seemed to be empty the past few times she went to check. Aloysia overheard conversation about Betrayer’s Rise and offered the party 10g each, then 25g, then 50g each to escort her through Betrayer’s Rise; however the party turned her down as Verin had warned them of her bribing soldiers to join her “expedition” and some mysterious circumstances behind her arrival. Aloysia immediately became disappointed in the group when 50g was not enough and left. Later the party finds that she had instead hired Ayo and her party, offering 100g a person. The next day the party went to the Crematorium and found a puzzle box in the stomach of a Vrock they dissected since it was not decaying after death as it should. There they met Prolix, a member of the Allegiance of Allsight, who offered them money for the box and the contents. They declined, opening it on their own and giving Prolix the puzzle box for free. As a thank you he tells them to be careful of Aloysia as she came with an entire retinue of guards, but they had all perished when she went to investigate the location where one of the “Heros” had supposedly perished during the Great Calamity. She values the lives of others as expendable for the “greater cause” and that she should not be trusted. The hot cross buns warn Ayo of this, but they are unable to convince the party as Ayo feels the need to take on such a high paying job in order to keep her party motivated and to get equipment to catch up to the HCBC, saying that her party are no “the chosen ones” and need the money to keep adventuring.
Once arriving at Betrayer’s Rise, the doors are locked until the people that last entered all die, or during the night; However as Milo approaches, the Jewel of Three Prayers glows and as he goes to open the gates, they instead burst open from the other side. 2 guards stumble out severely wounded as 4 Gloomstalkers fly out, 2 engaging the party, 1 going after Ayo and her party, and the last going after the retinue of guards that were resting at the tent camp. Nyx is snatched and dropped, but is able to fight back as Gorga tries to help by throwing Leon 15ft to the creature; however, Leon misses the attack and tumbles back and down the steps. Milo turns into a brown bear and summons 2 creatures to engage and take on one of Gloomstalkers, managing to kill it with Raan. They both see the Ayo’s party able to subdue theirs, but the guards are having trouble as the Gloomstalker grabs one and flies off. Raan and Milo engage in pursuit as it is about to get away… 80ft away in the air. We start at the top of the round with Milo!

At the beginning of last session we saw the Hot Cross Buns Committee finish off the Gloomstalker fight. Leon started by jumping on a rock and shooting a gloomstalker right out of the sky, while the rest of the party valiantly tried to save the Aurora Watch guard being taken away, but ultimately failed. With only a short break, the party set out to enter Betrayer’s Rise, allowing Aloysia and Ayo’s party to follow behind. Once they entered they immediately engaged with some gibbering mouthers, an offering table and a door that forced them to accept death. After discovering a room with a strange stained glass window and dancing fires, the party backtracks to follow Aloysia into a room with a long corridor of blades. After conducting some initial notes she leaves to go the other way annoyed with the noise of the HCBC. While exploring Raan slowly creeps up to 3 flaming skulls that did not like that and cast fireball on her and the party, showing just how deadly this dungeon can be. After nearly being downed, they leave the dungeon to rest to begin their exploration once again; however, once they re-enter they realize.. This dungeon is not quite the same.
The offering table: jagged markings along the edge of the table, which make up the following phrase in Abyssal: “Cast that which you value into Oblivion.” and recognizes that “Oblivion” refers to Tharizdun, the Betrayer God of emptiness and entropy, also known as the Chained Oblivion. translated and understood by Nyx and Dermot
Statues in the Blade Corridor Room:statues as depictions of Torog the Crawling King, god of enslavement and torture. The party notice a phrase written in Undercommon on the floor between the two statues that reads: “blah blah blah”. Seems like it is in a language you can not understand.

Last we saw the Hot Cross Buns they entered Betrayer’s Rise with an understanding of the newfound dangers. They entered a dark room with a voice that warned them to leave… and they did. They completed a puzzle learning about the Betrayer God’s and Leon looked into the fountain of the First Knight entranced by visions of his disappointed father. A hole led down 100 feet to a chamber housing a 3 armed figure bound in chains and a door in his chest. Seeing signs of the other party and hearing from Galsariad, they decided to leave them be and focus on the statue in front of them. Once they enter the chest they find the Prayer Room, a beautiful room filled with crystals. As Milo places the Jewel onto the Prayer podium Alyxian appears before them with another vision. Answering their questions, but it was obvious that he was in pain. After the vision Aloysia enteres with Ayo and her party. She asks the party to hand over the Jewel, and is annoyed when the HCBC refuses and Ayo sides with them. She looks at Irvan as she pulls out a scroll, causing the chamber to start shaking and having a boulder separate Aloysia from the room. Gloomstalkers and Ape creatures start coming in As Irvan uses this distraction to swipe the Jewel from Milo. After grabbing it he breaks a tablet in his hand causing a portal to open and jumping threw. The party follows as Ayo and her party fight off the incoming creatures, Ayo clearly having a look of betrayal and guilt. She shouts that they will find a way to meet them as the portal closes. A few creatures make it through as Leon attempts to catch Irvan in chase while the others handle the Gloomstalker and Ape that made it through the portal. Irvan manages to escape and guards help the party finish off the creatures. The guards take them to the battlements to ask questions where information about Aloysia is exchanged. And such is where we left off. The guard asks what their plans are in the city exactly and if they plan to go back to Bazzoxan.
The last time we saw the HCBC they got pamphlets of Ank’harel. They took a good rest and first thing in the morning went to the casino to gamble. They lost money at most of the games, but in the final game of the night, Dal bet all of his money at the second floor filled with high rollers, beating 4 other players, quadrupling his money in a crazy series of events. They then hear from Galsariad that they were able to make it to Bazzoxan and catch a teleportation ride with Prolix and Question using their tablet. With the severity of the situation Prolix agrees to help them when they get back and retrieve the Jewel before it is used for nefarious reasons by Aloysia. The party casts locate object on the jewel and track it around the city, finding a location that had suspicious people coming in and out, one of which they tail to an old decommissioned tavern. Milo is able to wild shape and scout out the area, letting everyone into the building. They open a door to find a secret meeting occurring where they immediately start fighting. As the final one falls, he grins and says “I am paying my debts” and a bright light emits from his armor followed by and explosion of curling flames. Raan and Leon are caught in the blast, but are able to tough it out.
Now is the perfect time to join as the party explores this new city and takes on missions. We look forward to seeing you at the table (:
The HCBC gow into the Crystal Chateau and meet the entrance guard Jor Raashid. They are allowed in when they name drop Prolix and are greeted by him when they enter the entrance. He introduces then to the Headmaster Cryon who thanks them for their work so far and hopes that they join the Allegiance of Allsight. They value and teaching of knowledge and are the only official organization that has access to Cael Morrow, and ancient drowned city below Ank’harel. They then see the Ayo and her party injured, but recovering, as they catch up about how they got back. Question is also there to give them a tour of the Cobalt Soul as she has recommended they check it out and maybe join. She introduces them to Iwo, an operative for the Cobalt Soul and invites them to join the Cobalt Soul. He informs them that it usually takes months of aiding the members to earn membership, but is willing to accelerate the process if they are willing to follow through a few quests. They complete the first mission by trailing a suspected cultist of Zehir to his home in the Sigil district and finding a note that implies there are attempts to break some members of the cult out of prison. After completing this quest they shop at the bone garden and at the Mystic Pursuits where Leon trades his lantern and +1 scimitar for 2 daggers and a scimitar. At night Milo awakens to a disturbance as a person with a cloak obscuring his face sits in the main living area waiting for him. He informs him that he is “The Owl” one of the leaders of the Consortium and understands that they have common enemies. He offers the information they seek on retrieving the Jewel they lost, their friend Irvan’s whereabouts, and the name of the person behind all of this; however can not technically share this with people outside of the organization. If the party agrees to help and join the Consortium he offers them money for their services as well. He says that the organization helps ALL those in need, even the jobs that the Cobalt Soul and Allegiance believe is “below them” and that they have the strongest financial backing out of any other group. The party hesitantly completes the first quest of finding a disturbance in the Sigil District related to a ghost and missing persons. Although the Owl asks to have the spirit turned in for him to help, the HCBC ignores it and brings the girl to the Cobalt Soul for help. There Iwo gives their second mission to:
Obtain proof that Old Man Kruuk is selling magic items on the black market.
Confiscate any magic items found at Kruuk’s bakery and bring them to Iwo.
At the behest of Question, also offers them gold for every item they bring back. The transaction is going down the next day, so the party spends the morning exploring the Bowl of Judgment where they hear about a competition where teams may compete in a group of 2s and individually for great treasures and rewards. The party signs up as they wish and look towards the rest of the day to prepare for the second Cobalt Soul Mission!

Last we saw the hot cross buns committee they decided to investigate the second cobalt mission, but realized they were undermanned as Milo and Dal went off to explore the city. Seeing this, Iwo told them he had found someone who had recently come into the city that could potentially offer some assistance, WITHER! Go to Old man Kruk’s Make shop, WIther distracts as red tiefling and Raan with pizza, Gorga and leon sneak in through his bedroom window and find a secret back room entrance where they find a lockbox and an odd chair. Gorga grabs both and runs out as Leon uses his new gloves to cast an invisible hand to close the bath behind him. Just as they escape, Old man Kruk brings in the gnome Ashaan, and Wither (disguised as a red Tiefling) and Raan. To his surprise his stuff has been looted and he runs out shouting. He is unable to find them and walks back in apologizing to Ashaan who is disgusted at his incompetence and assures him that she will be reporting this. She expects a discount and first pick on the next shipment. The party makes it back to the Temple of the Mentor (Cobalt Soul HQ) and go through their loot. Gorga discovers that the chair had a shield hidden in it with a khyber crystal embedded in it. As she sees it, she hears the voice in her head tempting her to touch the blade to it. Gorga succumbs and the blade absorbs the energy forming red streaks that shine bright and then dims. The rest of the party opens up the lock box finding a retractable khyber blade and treasure. They then bring in Question to assess the note and khyber weapons note with a seal that seems normal at first, but detect magic reveals the Veil’s seal (an organization not much is known about, but rumors are that they are a crime syndicate that spans the shadows of the entire city). While Question looks into this the party goes to the bowl of Judgement to participate in the team battle. They participate in the first battle where Raan and Wither encounter another adventuring party with Nerkoze and Narissa. Nerkoze immediately focuses down Raan before she can act, leaving it to Wither to fight them both 2v1. As things begin to look grim for Wither, she rolls a nat 20 on Vampiric Touch, nearly bringing her back into the game; however Narissa counterspells it, turning the tide back into their favor. Narisa and Nerkoze come out victorious in the first round!

The plot is just beginning to unravel and the mysteries are deep. Join the Allegiance of Allsight to partake in the sanctioned expedition into the depths of an ancient city, the Library of the Cobalt Soul to acquire knowledge of the history of the city and your enemies, or the Consortium of the Vermillion Dream to enter the internal struggle between the founding members spanning the entire city. Welcome! I go by Pegasus DM and I'm a professional Dungeon Master and freelance designer. I have been creating worlds since I was a kid, and once I learned about Dungeons and Dragons, it was a dream come true! The party just searched through a shipwreck filled with undead creatures and found a chest filled with gold and a talisman tied to Orcus the Lord of Undead. They also encountered two harpies searching for the talisman and quickly dispatched them; however, a winged kobold saw what was going on and tried to bargain for it unsuccessfully and decided to instead report back to its master. A Festival, Let's Party!
Gameplay Session 5/11
The session starts this coming Wed at 6PM PST (9PM EST). The party just left the starting city of Jigow and reached the Emerald Loop Caravan to take a rest on their way to Bazzoxan. They are in search of answers about the jewel they found, directed by the goblin Elder Colbu Kaz “Bazzoxan is a grim town under the control of the Aurora Watch, not a pleasant place to visit. But if what you tell me is true, what you have found is a Vestige of Divergence, an enchanted relic from the time of the Calamity known as the Jewel of Three Prayers. People do not stumble upon Vestiges without a reason. And there is no place in Xhorhas where the memory of the Calamity lingers more strongly than in Bazzoxan.”
There they learn that there is mysterious group with an insignia of 2 overlapping coins that were behind the attempt to steal the jewel from them and are known to collect unique artifacts and items to sell on the black market (which Bazzoxan relies on to maintain the balance with the endless stream of evil fiends climbing out of the rift in the city). Their base is somewhere in The Barbed Fields, and seem to have members tied to the orc and goliath tribes that raided Gorga and Leon's respective tribes. Who is the mastermind? A Highway Robbery :O

Last we saw the hot crossed buns they had encountered a Orc named Orog and Goliath named Stone, who had taken the Jewel from them. The party engaged them while Ayo and her party fended off a Vrock. The battle was intense as the Orog was able to get on the horse while knocking people back using his giant great axe; however, Milo was able to cast spike growth to prevent his escape and force him to fight. Orog was able to bring Leon and Raan, near death, but ended up perishing by the hands of Dal. Stone fell soon after. The party later escaped from a darkness covered creature flying in the sky, and even saw a dead one turning into goo on the side of the road. They woke up to a red moon that gave them all an eerie feeling, but soon arrived at the Caravan Emerald Loop where they met the family of goblins and spoke to a group of caravaners selling goods. The party bought some supplies and also performed for the protectors of the forest, the Acorn sisters. In return they gave them each of the performers a charm of vitality. They also met other members of the Wastewalkers clan where they traded a +1 dagger they found for a +1 scimitar.

Last we saw the Hot crossed buns they had a bonding chat with Ayo and her party where relationships blossomed between Ayo/Leon and Dal/Galsariad. In the morning they noticed two of the Aurora watch guards had left in the middle of the night towards Bazzoxan. Papa Drazagorr also gave a bangle to Raan during their goodbye. On their final leg of the journey to get to Bazzoxan they encountered a bandit group led by Six-Knives that ordered them to pay the “road ’n’ infer-structure tax.” Leon bargained to get them down to 15g and pretending they were afraid of Six-Knives, and were able to get through the group without any further conflict. Once arriving at the city, the guards let them in once they heard they were a group of capable fighters and almost immediately encountered a group of gibbering mouthers. With the help of a knight named Verin, the party dispatch the Gibbering mouthers, although they lose both guards who instantly die when engaging the monsters. Afterwards they go to the infirmary to check on Ayo and her party. They look quite banged up as Ayo is slightly injured, Maggie, has multiple bite marks on her, and Irvan is crest-fallen because of his inability to do much during this entire adventure so far. Raan stays to comfort them as the rest of the party goes to the Temple and meet Foghome the Gardener. He guides them to meditation as they all have a shared vision once more.
You see a young human, curls plastered to his brow by sweat, sinking to his knees in the garden. His eyes betray a lack of sleep, and despite the softness of his features, he looks like he has experienced more pain than any one person should bear. “They’re counting on me,” he whispers. “They need me, but I’m exhausted and frightened. What do I do? Please. Someone tell me—what do I do?” The moons race across the sky, soon replaced by the angry red sun that rises before a fateful battle. Five silhouettes approach the temple, and one claps the kneeling figure on the back. Their voices are muffled, as if coming at you through water, but you see them embrace, standing strong, before marching off to war

The Doors Open!

Last we saw our heroes, the hot cross buns committee members meditating in the Temple woke up from a vision to find a face looking down at them all asking for a light. There seemed to be something… dark and mysterious about her… but nobody could quite put their finger on it. Dal cast a firebolt to light her cigarette and the party introduced themselves. The potential for magical items and coin from exploring Bazzoxan and helping Verin with the town seemed to interest her, but that was before they all met Aloysia. At the same time this was happening Raan was approached by the cleric running the infirmary telling her in secret that the Jewel of Three Prayers that they hold is a very important artifact tied to the Calamity and 3 Gods imbued their power into the Jewel to help their champion, and simply did not want to mention it earlier when the area was crowded in case people with… bad motives overheard. Afterwards Raan met up with the party at the Gatehold Barracks where they competed in matches of shooting and wrestling, meeting Chad and Brock, the strongest and bro-iest soldiers of the bunch. There they also met Question of the Cobalt Soul and Aloysia from the Consortium of the Vermilion Dream. Question was initially part of the Cobalt Soul Expedition into Betrayer’s Rise, but arrived late and did not go in and now believes her comrades to be dead. She is a realist about this, but if they are indeed alive, offers the party a reward for bringing them back alive. In addition, there was a house that they supposedly stayed at before entering with a contact she has been unable to get in touch with since her arrival a few days ago. She asked the party to investigate if they have a chance as it seemed to be empty the past few times she went to check. Aloysia overheard conversation about Betrayer’s Rise and offered the party 10g each, then 25g, then 50g each to escort her through Betrayer’s Rise; however the party turned her down as Verin had warned them of her bribing soldiers to join her “expedition” and some mysterious circumstances behind her arrival. Aloysia immediately became disappointed in the group when 50g was not enough and left. Later the party finds that she had instead hired Ayo and her party, offering 100g a person. The next day the party went to the Crematorium and found a puzzle box in the stomach of a Vrock they dissected since it was not decaying after death as it should. There they met Prolix, a member of the Allegiance of Allsight, who offered them money for the box and the contents. They declined, opening it on their own and giving Prolix the puzzle box for free. As a thank you he tells them to be careful of Aloysia as she came with an entire retinue of guards, but they had all perished when she went to investigate the location where one of the “Heros” had supposedly perished during the Great Calamity. She values the lives of others as expendable for the “greater cause” and that she should not be trusted. The hot cross buns warn Ayo of this, but they are unable to convince the party as Ayo feels the need to take on such a high paying job in order to keep her party motivated and to get equipment to catch up to the HCBC, saying that her party are no “the chosen ones” and need the money to keep adventuring.
Once arriving at Betrayer’s Rise, the doors are locked until the people that last entered all die, or during the night; However as Milo approaches, the Jewel of Three Prayers glows and as he goes to open the gates, they instead burst open from the other side. 2 guards stumble out severely wounded as 4 Gloomstalkers fly out, 2 engaging the party, 1 going after Ayo and her party, and the last going after the retinue of guards that were resting at the tent camp. Nyx is snatched and dropped, but is able to fight back as Gorga tries to help by throwing Leon 15ft to the creature; however, Leon misses the attack and tumbles back and down the steps. Milo turns into a brown bear and summons 2 creatures to engage and take on one of Gloomstalkers, managing to kill it with Raan. They both see the Ayo’s party able to subdue theirs, but the guards are having trouble as the Gloomstalker grabs one and flies off. Raan and Milo engage in pursuit as it is about to get away… 80ft away in the air. We start at the top of the round with Milo!

Lost in Betrayer's Rise

At the beginning of last session we saw the Hot Cross Buns Committee finish off the Gloomstalker fight. Leon started by jumping on a rock and shooting a gloomstalker right out of the sky, while the rest of the party valiantly tried to save the Aurora Watch guard being taken away, but ultimately failed. With only a short break, the party set out to enter Betrayer’s Rise, allowing Aloysia and Ayo’s party to follow behind. Once they entered they immediately engaged with some gibbering mouthers, an offering table and a door that forced them to accept death. After discovering a room with a strange stained glass window and dancing fires, the party backtracks to follow Aloysia into a room with a long corridor of blades. After conducting some initial notes she leaves to go the other way annoyed with the noise of the HCBC. While exploring Raan slowly creeps up to 3 flaming skulls that did not like that and cast fireball on her and the party, showing just how deadly this dungeon can be. After nearly being downed, they leave the dungeon to rest to begin their exploration once again; however, once they re-enter they realize.. This dungeon is not quite the same.
The offering table: jagged markings along the edge of the table, which make up the following phrase in Abyssal: “Cast that which you value into Oblivion.” and recognizes that “Oblivion” refers to Tharizdun, the Betrayer God of emptiness and entropy, also known as the Chained Oblivion. translated and understood by Nyx and Dermot
Statues in the Blade Corridor Room: statues as depictions of Torog the Crawling King, god of enslavement and torture. The party notice a phrase written in Undercommon on the floor between the two statues that reads: “blah blah blah”. Seems like it is in a language you can not understand.

Speed Run the Dungeon!

Last we saw the Hot Cross Buns they entered Betrayer’s Rise with an understanding of the newfound dangers. They entered a dark room with a voice that warned them to leave… and they did. They completed a puzzle learning about the Betrayer God’s and Leon looked into the fountain of the First Knight entranced by visions of his disappointed father. A hole led down 100 feet to a chamber housing a 3 armed figure bound in chains and a door in his chest. Seeing signs of the other party and hearing from Galsariad, they decided to leave them be and focus on the statue in front of them. Once they enter the chest they find the Prayer Room, a beautiful room filled with crystals. As Milo places the Jewel onto the Prayer podium Alyxian appears before them with another vision. Answering their questions, but it was obvious that he was in pain. After the vision Aloysia enteres with Ayo and her party. She asks the party to hand over the Jewel, and is annoyed when the HCBC refuses and Ayo sides with them. She looks at Irvan as she pulls out a scroll, causing the chamber to start shaking and having a boulder separate Aloysia from the room. Gloomstalkers and Ape creatures start coming in As Irvan uses this distraction to swipe the Jewel from Milo. After grabbing it he breaks a tablet in his hand causing a portal to open and jumping threw. The party follows as Ayo and her party fight off the incoming creatures, Ayo clearly having a look of betrayal and guilt. She shouts that they will find a way to meet them as the portal closes. A few creatures make it through as Leon attempts to catch Irvan in chase while the others handle the Gloomstalker and Ape that made it through the portal. Irvan manages to escape and guards help the party finish off the creatures. The guards take them to the battlements to ask questions where information about Aloysia is exchanged. And such is where we left off. The guard asks what their plans are in the city exactly and if they plan to go back to Bazzoxan.

The last time we saw the HCBC they got pamphlets of Ank’harel. They took a good rest and first thing in the morning went to the casino to gamble. They lost money at most of the games, but in the final game of the night, Dal bet all of his money at the second floor filled with high rollers, beating 4 other players, quadrupling his money in a crazy series of events. They then hear from Galsariad that they were able to make it to Bazzoxan and catch a teleportation ride with Prolix and Question using their tablet. With the severity of the situation Prolix agrees to help them when they get back and retrieve the Jewel before it is used for nefarious reasons by Aloysia. The party casts locate object on the jewel and track it around the city, finding a location that had suspicious people coming in and out, one of which they tail to an old decommissioned tavern. Milo is able to wild shape and scout out the area, letting everyone into the building. They open a door to find a secret meeting occurring where they immediately start fighting. As the final one falls, he grins and says “I am paying my debts” and a bright light emits from his armor followed by and explosion of curling flames. Raan and Leon are caught in the blast, but are able to tough it out.
Now is the perfect time to join as the party explores this new city and takes on missions. We look forward to seeing you at the table (:

The HCBC gow into the Crystal Chateau and meet the entrance guard Jor Raashid. They are allowed in when they name drop Prolix and are greeted by him when they enter the entrance. He introduces then to the Headmaster Cryon who thanks them for their work so far and hopes that they join the Allegiance of Allsight. They value and teaching of knowledge and are the only official organization that has access to Cael Morrow, and ancient drowned city below Ank’harel. They then see the Ayo and her party injured, but recovering, as they catch up about how they got back. Question is also there to give them a tour of the Cobalt Soul as she has recommended they check it out and maybe join. She introduces them to Iwo, an operative for the Cobalt Soul and invites them to join the Cobalt Soul. He informs them that it usually takes months of aiding the members to earn membership, but is willing to accelerate the process if they are willing to follow through a few quests. They complete the first mission by trailing a suspected cultist of Zehir to his home in the Sigil district and finding a note that implies there are attempts to break some members of the cult out of prison. After completing this quest they shop at the bone garden and at the Mystic Pursuits where Leon trades his lantern and +1 scimitar for 2 daggers and a scimitar. At night Milo awakens to a disturbance as a person with a cloak obscuring his face sits in the main living area waiting for him. He informs him that he is “The Owl” one of the leaders of the Consortium and understands that they have common enemies. He offers the information they seek on retrieving the Jewel they lost, their friend Irvan’s whereabouts, and the name of the person behind all of this; however can not technically share this with people outside of the organization. If the party agrees to help and join the Consortium he offers them money for their services as well. He says that the organization helps ALL those in need, even the jobs that the Cobalt Soul and Allegiance believe is “below them” and that they have the strongest financial backing out of any other group. The party hesitantly completes the first quest of finding a disturbance in the Sigil District related to a ghost and missing persons. Although the Owl asks to have the spirit turned in for him to help, the HCBC ignores it and brings the girl to the Cobalt Soul for help. There Iwo gives their second mission to:
At the behest of Question, also offers them gold for every item they bring back. The transaction is going down the next day, so the party spends the morning exploring the Bowl of Judgment where they hear about a competition where teams may compete in a group of 2s and individually for great treasures and rewards. The party signs up as they wish and look towards the rest of the day to prepare for the second Cobalt Soul Mission!

Last we saw the hot cross buns committee they decided to investigate the second cobalt mission, but realized they were undermanned as Milo and Dal went off to explore the city. Seeing this, Iwo told them he had found someone who had recently come into the city that could potentially offer some assistance, WITHER! Go to Old man Kruk’s Make shop, WIther distracts as red tiefling and Raan with pizza, Gorga and leon sneak in through his bedroom window and find a secret back room entrance where they find a lockbox and an odd chair. Gorga grabs both and runs out as Leon uses his new gloves to cast an invisible hand to close the bath behind him. Just as they escape, Old man Kruk brings in the gnome Ashaan, and Wither (disguised as a red Tiefling) and Raan. To his surprise his stuff has been looted and he runs out shouting. He is unable to find them and walks back in apologizing to Ashaan who is disgusted at his incompetence and assures him that she will be reporting this. She expects a discount and first pick on the next shipment. The party makes it back to the Temple of the Mentor (Cobalt Soul HQ) and go through their loot. Gorga discovers that the chair had a shield hidden in it with a khyber crystal embedded in it. As she sees it, she hears the voice in her head tempting her to touch the blade to it. Gorga succumbs and the blade absorbs the energy forming red streaks that shine bright and then dims. The rest of the party opens up the lock box finding a retractable khyber blade and treasure. They then bring in Question to assess the note and khyber weapons note with a seal that seems normal at first, but detect magic reveals the Veil’s seal (an organization not much is known about, but rumors are that they are a crime syndicate that spans the shadows of the entire city). While Question looks into this the party goes to the bowl of Judgement to participate in the team battle. They participate in the first battle where Raan and Wither encounter another adventuring party with Nerkoze and Narissa. Nerkoze immediately focuses down Raan before she can act, leaving it to Wither to fight them both 2v1. As things begin to look grim for Wither, she rolls a nat 20 on Vampiric Touch, nearly bringing her back into the game; however Narissa counterspells it, turning the tide back into their favor. Narisa and Nerkoze come out victorious in the first round!
