Salutations. I am a first time DM, and require two new players for my campaign. It will be held over Discord. As many of us are new to DnD, we have simplified the rules:
The turns are decided before the battle with a roll of initiative. Each combatant rolls with their dexterity modifier. The higher your number, the sooner you go. Each set of turns lasts about six seconds in game, so keep that in mind if you have any spells that take time into account. Each person has a movement speed which determines how many feet they can move per turn. You can find this on your character sheet. When you move, you can break it up with an attack, ie, if you have 30 movement speed, you can move 10 feet, attack, then move another 20 if you so choose to. Now for the rules from that post. To keep track of everyone's positions, I will send something akin to this:
Northern Entrance: Icarus Thrix Sirena Tiana -- East Hallway: Orc Werewolf 400x Slimes --- West Hallway: Dracula Jesus Bigfoot
I will be keeping track of everyone's positions on a separate tab. If anyone needs a reminder of the positions mid-battle, let me know so that I may send it. Each one of those dashes represent 5 feet of distance. So for example, the northern entrance is 10 feet away from the east hallway, which is 15 feet away from the west hallway. And each character is five feet away from the one in front of/behind it. For example, Dracula is five feet in front of Jesus, and Jesus is five feet in front of Bigfoot. If, for whatever reason, you want your characters to be right next to each other, I will put their names as such. The last thing to note is that, if you plan to attack someone stealthily, you will roll a stealth check (with dexterity modifiers) while your target rolls a perception check (with wisdom modifier.)
Rolls that result in the following do the following: 1-4: Attack Fail. 5-9: Coin Flip To See If Attack is Successful. 10-14: Attack Successful. Attack Once, OR Use Skill. 15-19: Attack Super Successful! Attack Twice, Use Two Skills, OR Attack and then Use Skill. Nat 20: Attack Successful! ATTACK 3 TIMES, OR USE 3 SKILLS! At level 1, all enemies deal 1 HP of damage, except under specific circumstances (you guys **** up and try to fight a level 20 chromatic dragon on session two /j). This damage will increase as your level does until we have reached a point where you no longer need the handicap and enemies can use their normal stats.
The campaign itself will follow the players who, for one reason or another, are all destined for Hell, but Death requires some help. Five people have created trinkets that make them immortal, and as it cannot go near these people, it asks that you destroy these trinkets. If you are successful, you will be allowed to go to heaven. There will also be many homebrew monsters to spice things up.
