Hail and well met I’m Zag! Nerd, critter and lover of all things roleplay, I've been a professional DM for various D&D campaigns on R20 for over 4 years now and have amassed over 9 thousand hours of experience and hundreds of sessions! In my games I always encourage everyone to have fun and enjoy themselves at my tables, as I try to curate an environment that is centered around the shared enjoyment of a good game played. With the experiences I provide in my games you're able to truly delve into your character on entirely new levels, with player's and a community that are able to match your passion for storytelling and show up to each session as equally excited about the next session as you are. New players are more than welcome to come along for the adventure, I create one of the best new-player experiences for every player that joins my games.
My first introduction into D&D was a particular show I'm sure you've heard of called Critical Role. That show was the start of my journey as a DM years ago and has served as the basis for the quality of storytelling I strive for. The baseline experience you'll receive in my games are intimate, deep and rich stories with detailed plots, interweaving arcs and campaign defining moments you'll never forget. Of course, all of this coupled with fully voice acted npc's and the full range of emotions that come along with a breathing world that interacts and reacts to you on a level and scale you've never experienced before.
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: No experience necessary! New players are openly welcomed. Location/Time zone: Online Roles sought: Player Game style: My games feature robust character and world centric storylines, with combat being often times very serious and intense! Exploration is a part of the game with a rich well written world to explore, and even in some cases many other planes of existence which house their own adventurers! Date/Time: There are many different games run which range in their dates and start times. Cost: $16 - $20 (USD) per player, per session. All paid through PayPal. Pricing varies depending on the type of campaign ran, details down below!

What kind of DM are you?
I'm a heavy role-play type of DM as my main goal is at the end of the day to tell a compelling and overall great story, mechanics sometimes taking a hefty backseat when in favor of achieving a better narrative. So if you're looking to get your roleplay on with other player's just as passionate about the craft as you are, you've come to the right place! The games I run are typically character driven and focus is always shone on the player's and how their decisions impact the characters and world around them as they carve out their adventure.
What is Aesaris?
Aesaris is a homebrew fantasy world created and written by me! Originally created to facilitate the adventures of my many games, I quickly became enamored with a new idea. What if I created a fantasy world that could not only host the adventures of my beloved players, but what if this world was shared between them. As in the events of one campaign can affect another on a worldly scale? What if in these separate campaigns they're all tackling world-changing events at once?
You get instances where one campaign is at the center of an ancient draconic event that sees the once thought-to-be extinct beings back into the world, which then means another campaign is a part of and a defender against a dragon attack on their city weeks later. A party seeks to plot revenge against a feylord of the dark-fey realm with a lesser fey they met along their journey. This culminates into a new feylord being born in the dark fey realm, setting off the waking of the Old Gods of the Umbrarealm. Wherein two campaigns purely set in the Umbrarealm now have to deal with this world changing event, while those who caused it escape back to the Prime Plane to live out their lives. Unknowing of just how important that event was, at least not until they return months later which saw them be the reaping's they sowed.
So to say that it's been a unique and wonderful experience would be an understatement, the amount of interconnected events that occur and transpire really give the world an alive feeling. The impact of decision-making in my campaigns can not only be felt by the player, but by other entire campaigns which have their stories taking place within this world at the same time.
I've also created several new races, over 40+ subclasses and 100+ spells specifically for the world as well and 30+ new feats to really spice up the content of my games to further set them apart. All of this in addition to the 120+ subclasses, 100's of species options, and 80+ feats the original D&D content provides. All of which you don't have to worry about owning, as I already own all of this content over on Roll20!
The Community
The players that have come to make up the bulk of my active community are some of the most talented individuals, from writers to artists (and there's a lot of us) that bring their own flavor to their characters and make the world feel even more alive. We are welcoming to all peoples that have a passion for D&D in our 18+ | LGBTQ+ space 🏳️🌈. The community itself is free to join, so if you'd like to be a part of it just shoot me a PM!
How Can I Join?
You can send me a private message expressing interest in being a part of the experience, from there I'll invite you to our community discord and send you an application for you to join! After which we'll try to fit you into the available game slots I run games in that best suit your schedule.
Campaign Types
I run various types of campaigns, from my own homebrew campaigns to adventure modules and even games set in the world of Exandria! The two main types of campaigns I run are what I call full length campaigns, which are games run until their narrative completion meaning from level 1 - ?? it could be level 15 when your narrative ends, 17, 18 or 20. The story's duration is as long as it makes sense to be, although I tend to always have epilogue arcs set up to allow a campaign to reach the dream of 20th level.
The other type of game I run is called Arc-Campaigns! These are the type of games I highly recommend to any newcomer to my games and are as the name suggests narrative Arcs that are expertly laid out and executed for your enjoyment. These games usually last around 4-6 sessions and can span multiple episodes with the same characters. The most recent example of this being a very fun and community favorite game with the party The Witchblades. They've done 2 arc campaigns, one taking 4 sessions to complete and the second taking 5 sessions. This very unique game was actually able to merge into a campaign to form a mega session! which is still ongoing as of writing this. This being a special event where all players of The Witchblades met up with the party The Rime Rose and are now tackling a big bad together.
Why Pay for You as My DM?
This is a common question I've seen a lot as a professional dungeon master over the years. My response is usually that while free games are great at the sweet sweet price of $0, their average run-time is probably somewhere between 2-3 months and that's if you're lucky. Due to the game being free no one has any real reason to stay beyond superficial reasons or if they just really like the people they're with. But that therein brings another question, what about the DM? People have extremely busy lives and as a result schedules can change, this is no different for a dungeon master which can usually bring a pretty swift end to games even if all the stars align and the group is perfect. They aren't on average a consistent long-term experience, and often lead to unfinished stories & adventures.
A game hosted by a professional DM like myself will ultimately provide a more consistent, and higher quality experience since this is my job! I have talent in voice acting, I've bought equipment which modulates my voice to achieve peak immersion when talking to monsters and NPC's alike. I've hosted over 1k D&D games and have amassed 10k hours of experience in my extensive history running D&D games for over hundreds of people over my years of doing this. Additionally you'll be in a game with other player's with just as much of a vested interest in the outcome of their experience and stories as you! Those who join my games will find themselves in a once in a lifetime story with some amazing individuals due to my application process vetting out any unsavory individuals.
Below are some other incentives as to why you should look into a paid experience if you are at all skeptical.
When you're paying me to be your DM you know that, unless an emergency comes up I'll make the game.
You're buying the reliability of having a DM that shows up, at the set time, adequately prepared to run your game.
You can also trust that your fellow players will be there for each session as well, as now they have an invested interest in seeing its success. You know that those paying just like you, have the same drive to show up each week.
You get to enjoy a world that truly feels alive, with a character that has a purpose.
You receive around the clock assistance with character development, backstory, and just hints and tips for bringing your character to life.
Because every player is paying, everyone present within that game is equal.
Furthermore this is my job! I'm passionate about the art of storytelling and the quality in the conveyance of a good story. You will be in a game with a DM that truly loves what he does, and his passion shows in everything he creates. From the very worlds you'll walk in to the highly imaginative hijinks you'll get up too!
Applications and Acceptance
I first and foremost accept applicants based on quality, and compatibility over simply who applies first. I don’t look for just any player, I look for the best player I feel will fit with the party in terms of personality and players that synergize with my DM style. This means that just because you apply first, or may see another apply first, doesn’t mean you lose your chance of getting into the game. In my experience the best and longest campaigns come from finding all the right people and bringing them together.
If all of this interests, you and my games sound like the perfect fit. Perhaps you find yourself being a curious and prospecting onlooker, send me a PM and I will personally invite you to spectate a session live as it happens. Where you get to see the magic happen for yourself.
Expected Player Etiquette
I am now going to explain the expectations of a player that sits down to play at my table. I’m all about unhindered fun as long as it doesn’t impede on the way someone else enjoys theirs. In my game’s your character is truly an individual and can decide what they want and don’t want to do. I was never fond of the idea of binding everyone to a group and stripping away their individual character’s wants and needs and pushing the responsibilities of the decision making onto one party member. To me, when you sit down to play the character you created, with your time, imagination and energy, they are always individual first. There is no “party leader” everyone’s a leader, and everyone contributes to the decisions made.
At the end of the day I want everyone to get along together and have fun playing a game we all commonly love, known as D&D. All the while being respectful towards each other for their time, energy and creativity that they’ve contributed into the game.
Individuality Within Reason
I strive for the players at my table to really embody their character and wear their skin as if it’s their own but there comes a point where the line is drawn. I support character RP, and player character based choices. Where the line is drawn, is when it disrupts the momentum of the game, or the player acts in their own self interest (breaking character). Using their character to do things that they really want to do vs. what their character would/should do. I support the idea of a character being an individual that is part of a group or team. If it is disruptive or toxic in nature, that is strictly not allowed. We’re here to have fun together, not ruin someone else's experience they’ve paid for. Fun at the expense of another is not fun.
Payment
All payments are handled through PayPal and furthermore through subscriptions, which you can pause or cancel at anytime in-case there is an emergency. Games that are run on the weekends from Friday, Saturday & Sunday all have the pricing of $16 per session or $56 per month (Via Paypal).
All games ran during the weekdays are $20 per session, however all games that are run as adventures or Arc-Campaigns are $16 per session.
Away from the Prime Plane and into the fey lands of the Brightworld, experience a fantastical story as you wade through these magic enriched lands. Hunt feybeasts, make pacts and maybe even participate in a smidgen of heroics and become an adventurer set out to make a name for yourself! But such a goal is a lofty one and many horrors await you in this fey-realm…such as monsters from the Nightmare realm which have seeped over and now threaten the delicate ecosystems of the Brightworld. Fey from the Nightmare realm of Naldraedact who've been slowly bleeding into the bright world posing threat to the ways of life of all. Minions of chaos who threaten to bring the peaceful fey realm of the Brightworld to its knees, that is unless adventurers like you step up to take the mantle and fight on behalf of your fey realm in this resurging conflict.
Play as an adventurer from the fey realm of the Brightworld, creating a character that's grown up in this wild world and has since become an adventurer. Create diverse characters, with crazy lore as you delve into death defying moments for a cause greater than yourself and a fey realm like you never have before. As the lore of Aesaris, my homebrew world takes a twist on a lot of the themes you commonly see play out in fey realms and turns them on their head. Alongside mechanics unique to my world ecosystem, never before seen homebrew spells, feats and much much more. So! Will you delve into this fey realm adventurer, and unravel the millennia long secrets as the line between truth and myth become blurred?
Campaign Duration
This game is a part of an episodic campaign style I do called an Arc-Campaign and encompasses an entire arc of a story! It is meant to run from anywhere between 4-8 sessions depending on your choices, and the potential for more Arc-Campaigns that follow with the same characters or even the possibility the Arc-Campaign becomes full length is of course. Always there!
A Shared World
This is a fully homebrew campaign setting featuring the world of Escaris created by me! You may be asking, "What sets this apart from other homebrewed settings?" Well, this campaign is integrally linked to 5-6 other campaigns in a shared world and ecosystem, the actions of those in this game may very well affect the wider scope of the world. Which in turn will at some point touch the various other campaigns being run, as the ripple effects of large battles make waves across the lands.
