Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: Everyone is welcome, including beginners. Timezone: EST (but any can play so long as it fits in) Schedule: Tuesdays and Fridays starting at 7:30-8pm Roles sought: Player Game style: Focus on roleplaying, but with a good mix of combat and exploration.
I am a DM with 5 years of experience. I have been running paid games for nearly 3 years, all within my setting of Vogard. My campaigns all take place around the same time, and all have the potential to meet with other adventuring groups to expand and enrich the world they inhabit. The following is a list of potential plots that your group could go on, but the decision will be made during session zero between all participants.
Plots
Kadash's Tower (Length: 15 session | Starting Level: 5th) Adventurers from across the world of Vogard are invited to Kadash's Tower by the sage, Jupera. A magical letter finds them and offers a job to venture across the planes to ensure the Material Plane’s safety, starting with the plane of flesh, Carodus. Seeking a carnifex gorging on the souls of people stolen from the Material Plane. [Notes: This campaign will have downtime between ventures.]
Anarchy Reigns (Length: 15 sessions | Starting Level: 3rd) Bandit factions clash in Unzaikai all the time, but a promise of power pushes some factions to scale up their animosity for the other. In the land of “every man for themselves,” you must come together to either profit yourselves, your faction, or other parties of interest. The only rule of Unzaikai is that trust is too expensive to buy, and too rare to sell. [Notes: This campaign encourages chaos.]
On the Lamb (Length: 10-12 sessions | Starting Level: 2nd) Locked away in prison near the heart of Maximous, a few convicts plots to break out and make a run for it. The authorities will not let them go easy, as the nation of law and order hunts them down. It is on them to flee for safety, or cause more issues than they had before being locked away. Can they trust each other long enough to get away, or will there be backs painted in the blood of betrayal? [Notes: You will not start with any equipment or money in this campaign, and will need to steal or repossess any goods.]
Details
These campaigns are short, but they all have the potential to continue for another "season." At the end of a season, the campaign will be paused for no more than 3 weeks to allow myself to prepare for the next batch, while also giving any players an easy out if they are unsatisfied. Each session will be 3-4 hours long on average. A campaign is not guaranteed to be extended, as it relies on player interest.
I charge $15 per player, per session. Session zero will be free of course, and if you do not find me to be the right kind of DM we can end at any point, no grudges. This campaign is LGBTQ+ friendly, and is using the Lines & Veils safety tool. I will only accept those that are 18 or older.
The setting of Vogard is high fantasy with some Final Fantasy-like elements. It is pre-gunpowder, so no firearms. This also means that I will not allow the Artificer. I am pretty liberal with character creation, so long as it isn't world breaking. A list of available races, classes, and subclasses will be provided near the start of the session 0. Homebrew outside of my own is unlikely to be approved, but I am very willing to work with a player to create something new. If you seek a more in-depth description of the world and my style, this link is an introduction to Vogard. I encourage players to consider some of the homebrew options that would fit the setting.
We will be playing over Discord voice chat, without cameras. Using Beyond for character sheets, as well as using Roll20 as our VTT. Stats will be selected through point buy. Hit points will be rolled when leveling, rerolling any 1's (and 2’s for classes with d10/d12 hit die). I have a fair amount of homebrew races and subclasses for those interested in playing something new. There is a potential that we swap over to the new ruleset coming soon, but that is dependent on how supported it is on Beyond, and how many people would want to make that switch.
If you are interested, you can message me at my Discord username is Meerkody. I will try to respond as soon as I'm available.
