Welcome to The Pale Sigil – Guardians of Yartar's Unseen Edge
This week's horror: Death Everywhere Something is leaving gore-covered skeletons all over the city. One moment people are alive, the next, their bones are stripped and all that's left of their flesh is a small pile of fat, skin, and entrails. There is a race to find the killer(s) and stop these killings or the city might be a ghost town in days.
YOU are no mere adventurer. You are an initiated member of The Pale Sigil, a secret society founded in desperation by Yartar’s most powerful priests, mages, and civic leaders. When threats slip through the cracks, when politics falter, magic fails, or horrors breach the veil, it’s you they call.
Each week, you will face challenges born from the edge of reason. Curses, cults, beasts, assassins, hauntings, invasions - whatever threatens Yartar’s safety, your Sigil burns cold with warning.
This is a Rule of Cool, horror-forward campaign, built as a series of intense one-shots. Every session leans into:
Your character starts at Level 4. You may use: + Standard array, point buy, or roll 4d6 drop lowest (roll live or send proof). + Official D&D races and classes only (unless you check with me first). + Everyone gets a new, custom magic item at the start of each session.
Every Sigil agent has an invisible tattoo etched on their face (or hands if their face is too scarred or inhuman). These can only be revealed by the Spell of Revealing, a unique cantrip all members cast at will to identify one another in the field.
You’ll need:
~A Level 4 character sheet (send it to me ahead of time). ~Physical dice or a dice app. ~Paper and pen. ~A Discord account. ~A microphone and headset (voice only – this is theater of the mind, no video).
Each mission is a standalone nightmare. Show up, get your gear, and survive.
Each week is a new adventure. You and your party will find yourselves called upon to save the maiden or bloke, recover the magic items, or slay the lich that's terrifying the region.
Horror-based, with plenty of puzzles, combat, and role-playing, our number one rule is to have fun.
Played in the theater-of-the-mind, you will only need a character, a set of dice, a way to communicate, and your wits.
Prepare for adventures created for you and with you. As a team, we will find ways to get in and out of trouble, solve problems, and advance our characters.
Are you adventurer enough for the dark side of Faerun? Join us every Friday night to find out.
