The World of Provenance is a prime material realm that is relatively new. The year is 562 of Provenance. Through an unknown reason, Galmor, Lathander's Cleric from Faerun, with the help of Provenance, an ancient Platinum dragon, came to this "emptiness" and started to bring it life. They redirected life creative energy from Faerun, and Provenance was born. This creative energy came from the depths of Boldahar and Lodir mountain ranges, deep underground. It is there, that Galmor, a mountain dwarf himself, created the dwarves first, and other species followed.
Something happened three hundred years later. The Pentatmoex, as legend would later call it. A magical battle broke out for some unknown reason near the area of Darkphor Este, a previously peaceful forest full of elves and other fey creatures. This magical battle caused the forest to delve into a kind of dark magical presence. The real reason and cause for this is still unknown to the continent. But after this, it is said, dark creatures with selfish intents start to roam the world.
These dark forces were beaten back in the year 411 of Provenance by an Elven warrior, Loraleth, together with her companion Orisa, a Centaur, brought an end to the war known as the "Pentatomex' Conflict." With the forces defeated and in retreat, Provenance realm continued to grow.
Fast forward to the year 562, civilizations have risen, cities have been built. The dwarven city of Boldahar Dural is perhaps the oldest, followed by others. We find ourselves in one of the cities adjacent to Boldahar Dural, Hig Lodir, where our adventurers begin their journey. Rumors of a cult, Drac Crimson, have been known to be present in the world, trying to bring back the Red Dragon Dalax that was slain during the Pentatomex' Conflict. Otherwise a seemingly peaceful world, trouble may be brewing in the shadows of this peaceful realm. Or perhaps there are those who wish to challenge the norms of this world at this early stage to stake a claim to the power structures in the future? Who are the heroes that will rise up to the challenges of the shadows? Or maybe even challengers who may upend the norms that have been set up by Provenance and Galmor? Is it you?

My DM style is one that encourages player interaction and player PROaction. Of course, we're here to have fun so make certain that your PROaction is not too destructive to the party, or just reach out to me before you do something would be good. I'm very flexible, and maybe too flexible.
Provenance is a world that I'm building from scratch. It is definitely a work in progress, so this game is very sandboxy, so player involvement is very crucial. Our first go around at it lasted about 150 hours of gameplay before players' attrition and perhaps personal decisions led us to end that campaign.
We currently have 5 players, and so are looking to round out the group. We have a good mix of American/EU players as well as a balanced gender spectrum, so all are welcome.
One of the "norms" that have been set in this realm is that written magic is publicly forbidden. It is forbidden by an organization called the Order of Provenance, an order of magic users who police and make certain NO WRITTEN MAGIC and/or RUNES are written down. So if you are playing a wizard type with spellbooks, you can, but be aware of this. Naturally talented magic users are fine, just don't have anything in writing. So, yes, scrolls are not publicly owned or traded.
We typically play on Saturday 9 AM Pacific Time, which goes into daylight savings this coming Saturday. We are playing every other Saturday. We are using old 5e rules, for now. We may transfer to 2024 later. In the next few weeks, we're going to set up a time for players to get together to hash out a backstory together. You all are starting at 6th level, and you all know each other one way or another. This will speed up our game one, and send us into a direction where all can agree on.
