Welcome to the Journey's End Campaign. I have brought you all here today to discuss the disappearance of an ancient holy relic. We do not know who has taken it or why, but one thing is clear: it must be returned, before all of Vestuvia is burned to ash.
Who Am I?
My name is Alex (they/them) and I have recently moved here after graduating college. This will be my 4th year as a player and Dungeon Master for DnD 5e. After running two mini campaigns in my homebrew setting of En, I am excited to begin my 3rd. My plan is to run the first arc of this campaign, a city-based investigation plot, over the next few months and then assess with the group if we would like to continue playing together. If others are willing, I would love to turn this into a multi-year campaign where we fight gods and save the world!
What is the Setting?
I am looking to run a heroic city investigation campaign in my homebrew world, En. While much of the world is classic medieval fantasy with a cosmology based loosely on The Forgotten Realms, our story begins in the steampunk/dieselpunk city of High Hill. Ravaged by centuries of attacks by denizens of The Underdark, High Hill has adapted to become a militaristic society and learned to bolster their constantly challenged defenses with technological innovation.
The setting also features ~100 unique deities (and counting), an Outer Planes alignment system based on The MTG Color Wheel (& Humanity), and a dramatic history you may just have the opportunity to uncover. Deities and mortals alike scheme to shift the balance of power, spark revolution, or defend the status quo. Here is a link to my Legend Keeper if you would like to check out more of my setting.
The campaign will focus on themes of free will, perseverance, coexistence, and the struggle between radical revolution and the long-held status quo. It will address racism, displacement, and genocide, but always aim to be a story of struggle, hope, and healing. As the campaign progresses, PCs will quickly become powerful heroes with even more dangerous enemies and the ability to reshape the world around them.
What Am I Looking For?
I'm looking to run a LGBTQ+ friendly game for a group of fellow nerds from all walks of life. I like to run games where the PCs are epic heroes who change the world. While I love horrible puns, laughter, and general shenanigans, I kindly ask that you do not play a joke or meme character. I enjoy tying the PC backstories to the setting and narrative and love when players work with me to build a character with plenty of hooks to drag them into the plot.
What are the Logistics?
I am looking to run a 4-5 player group meeting for 3-4 hours every week. Due to my schedule, Saturday and Sunday will be our only possible meeting days. We will decide on a consistent meeting day and time before the campaign begins. The campaign will begin at level 1-3, depending on the experience of the party with DnD 5e. Experience with TTRPGs is preferred but not required.
If you are interested, please fill out the Interest Form and reach out if you have any further questions.
