I am looking to put a new group together after my current one has had to disband after 3 years of playing together :'(
I know the struggles of finding a DM so i am looking for a group where everyone is open to DMing, even if it is only for a one shot or mini campaign. This way one person doesn't get stuck in the role of forever DM and gets a chance to play.
Please do not reach out if you have no intention of DMing.
I am getting older so would prefer a 25+ age group.
Game: D&D 5e/one Group preferred: Online (open to face to face if people are nearby) Experience: Any experience welcome Location/Timezone: UK time Zone, In Chelmsford if people happen to be nearby. Availability: Open to any evenings or weekends Preferred role: Both Game style: Casual and here for the laughs whilst still wanting to progress. Rule of Cool!
Please fill out the following if you are interested: Group preferred: Online/In person/Either Experience: Any previous experience? Location/Timezone: Availability: Would you be comfortable being the first to DM: Yes Full campaign/Yes mini campaign or one shot/No Preferred game style: Age range: 0-24/25+ Any special requirements:
Discord: NanoNinja#1336 (or nanoninja. with the full stop) Group preferred: Online Discord, TaleSpire is my preferred VTT. Have used Roll20 in the past Experience: Forever DM 6 years, D&D 2014, 2024 and many others Location/Timezone: AEDT (GMT+11) Aussies East Coast Availability: Saturday Evenings, fortnightly (I can be flexible to some degree) Would you be comfortable being the first to DM: Yes Full campaign, mini campaign or one shot. Preferred game style: Balanced, I hope. Story based and adaptable to Player Backstories. I like smart players rather than smart characters. As a DM, I like set up and pay off. I tend to run published modules. I like to try other game systems and settings. Rather than the rule of cool, if a player is clear in what their character wants to do, good chance I'll allow it. Age range: 25+ Any special requirements: I like to make sure the players are having fun and are engaged. Screwing around in games is okay, I don't like joke characters, power players or players who try to break the game. The goal is not for the DM or the players to win. The goal is to tell a good story and have fun on the way.
Discord: Via message. Roll20 and Forge account paid, DnDBeyond free only.
Can play online only as I am somewhat remote, timezone is GMT.
Played AD&D back in the day and got to 5e 2014 again last year. So that's a long hiatus. Mostly DMing. Other systems: 5e 2024 (but I prefer 2014) and Pathfinder 2e. Currently developing my own campaign, very exploration heavy, starting at level one. But I don't insist in playing this one.
Am available most evenenings and ready to DM. Prefer weekly schedule for a campaign in order to not risk loosing the campaign thread between sessions. Details of course subject to extensive discussion, and getting to know each other maybe during a oneshot or just play.
I want to play with people who do like actual role playing in character, interacting with the group and the world the DM lays before them. A mere dungeon crawler would quickly become boring to me, specifically with players who just roll their dice. Of course this needs some time to develop until everyone is comfortable.
