Are you planning to start at a specific lvl since you’re dual classing?
W/magic + tech would you allow for a Wildheart Bear Totem Barbarian/Pact of Lycan Bloodhunter dual class? Using for a lvl 6 (3 barbarian/3 bloodhunter) half-orc, specializing in two-weapon archery using pistols. While raging and in hybrid form I have AC 18, strength 22, and am resistant to all damage except psychic, immune to non-silvered/magic pierce/bludg/slash damage, can speak w/animals , and can use strength for ranged rolls. Once multi attack maxes out I’d use 4 shots per pistol w/a bonus of one additional shot/reload bonus action, allowing me to make up to 10 attacks while hasted or w/potion of speed (gives AC +2 as well) when at lvl 17 bloodhunter.
Use of hemocrit die and blood rite boost weapon attacks by 1d6 necrotic and 1d8 cold damage, and I can combine w/savage attacks and savage attacker to max out and double crits if attack hits. Blood curse or marked lets me add xtra hem die to my attacks w/imbued weapons (so 2d6 necrotic and 1d8 cold to each pistol shot that hits, or up to 33 damage per pistol, w/doubled dice for a critical).
If I understand your follower rules, I could have one or two werebear followers (CR 5) as well, and you’d let me use a legendary weapon upon reaching lvl 5 with the b hunter class?
Sounds like an MCU-level epic setting, but I want to make sure I’m not using a PC that’s too overpowered for the campaign.
That build does not even work the way you plan. barb and bloodhunter only get one extra attack each. They do not stack that way in a gestalt build so you would only have 2 attacks. Other than that, haste also does not work that way. It gives one extra attack not an action, so even using a bonus action to attack while hasted gives a total of 4 attacks. Just to reiterate, you would get 3 attacks normally and 4 attacks while hasted (Levels 5-20). Side note resistances also don't stack so you won't be immune to all those damage types. Idk where you are getting the 22 strength either. The only way this could almost work, since you never posted the other class you will be using, would be if you were a fighter as well (6 fighter , 3 Barb/ 3 Blood). If you really want 10 attacks would be using a at least 20th level echo knight fighter as one class and whatever you want for your other. Explanation: Fighter=4 attacks Echo knight subclass lets you Unleash Incarnation to get +1 attack when taking the attack action (up to con modifier times) = +1 attack Action surge for an addition +4 haste for +1 By wording haste lets you take the attack action so +1 from Unleash Incarnation again BA attack +1 Total= 10 normal 12 if hasted It is burst but it can work.
People frequently think Gestalt will "solve" action economy. It really makes it worse, since each character has more choices that can apply in every turn. Some combinations exist where options from class 1 directly support core actions from class 2, but you are more frequently well-served by picking 2 classes with different focuses completely, and consciously switching gears based on the situation.
Examples? A Fighter/Rogue who uses the Steady Aim Rogue feature to gain advantage for a Fighter-capable attack (possibly one with the Vex Weapon Mastery, so he KEEPS Advantage as long as he connects) which he then adds Sneak Attack damage to. Or a build which focuses on blaster damage and on healing. The player decides which to use at any given point, but can flip between the roles as the situation warrants. In the first example the 2 classes combine to be more effective in combat, while in the second they don't really combine, but offer far more flexibility.
Just an opinion.
And I don't think worm0f_IceandFire really understands what gestalt is. Part of the issue with clarity in the initial post. Too many assumptions that everyone knows certain terms to mean certain things.
Thank you for clearing that up. I’m not familiar with gestalt and got really turned around trying to figure stuff out 😅.
I’m not aiming for a particular number of attacks or to break action economy. Main goal is to get a feel for what’s possible with a dual, mostly martial build since I don’t tend to vibe well w/spellcasters. Been curious about blood hunter since it seems like mostly martial with a bit of room for magic shenanigans and a pseudo-lycanthropy mechanic.
I’ve played DnD casually on and off for a number of years, and this would be my first attempt at dual classing and the gestalt mechanic, so I may not be a great fit with an established or experienced party as I don’t wish to slow things down for anyone.
I appreciate you taking the time to explain it to me. This was a helpful learning experience. Thanks again, and wishing you a very Happy New Year!

I don't think your message is clear. Frequently, when trying to be brief, we become obscure. I think you managed to do so.

If you really want 10 attacks would be using a at least 20th level echo knight fighter as one class and whatever you want for your other.
Explanation:
Fighter=4 attacks
Echo knight subclass lets you Unleash Incarnation to get +1 attack when taking the attack action (up to con modifier times) = +1 attack
Action surge for an addition +4
haste for +1
By wording haste lets you take the attack action so +1 from Unleash Incarnation again
BA attack +1
Total= 10 normal 12 if hasted
It is burst but it can work.
