Each session will be a One-Shot-Dungeon unless the Dungeon Master announces it as a minor story arch. As One-Shot-Dungeons anyone with an idea for a dungeon can be the Dungeon Master. It is up to that Dungeon Master to pick if his/her character is a Non Playable Character or sits out that session. It is up to the Dungeon Master to control the flow of the game. Dungeon Master should give the players an idea of the difficulty of the session and try to be fair and impartial to all. Once a Dungeon Master as made a change to a character it cannot be undone or compensated by another Dungeon Master. I.E. lost of money, limbs, items, eye sight, tongues, pets, slaves, etc.
The Players need to respect the decisions of the Dungeon Master during the session. If more than a few players think the decision is unjust then the Dungeon Master should rethink his/her decision. Do not challenge everything the Dungeon Master says. Player versus Player should be at a minimal; fighting, skill checks, stealing, etc unless everyone can agree upon it. Characters should be only Wizard of the Coast playable races, classes, backgrounds, feats, equipment, etc unless everyone can agree on a homebrewed mechanics for a character. Do your best to play your character how you built them. Be the character not the Player.
Creating a Character
Use D&D Beyond for character build.
Characters will start at level one for the first time. If a character dies the Player can choose to resurrected or start with a new character. New character’s level will be discussed amongst the Players (during a break or end of session) to decide the level of the new character. Character wealth of non-resurrected characters is recoupled by the “guild” to handle operating costs. I.E. players will be unable to loot their fallen comrades outside of dire circumstances in the current dungeon.
Pick a Race-Be wary of races that do not get along-natural enemies.
Pick a Class-Everyone can be the same class or different classes.
Heath Points-roll/average/max -What we decide is what Monsters get also.
Ability Scores Point Buy 32
Pick a Background-Make sure your background works with your Backstory
Alignment-Remember that others will be playing with you may not have the same Alignment or Faith. If you are the “blacksheep” of the party try not to work against the party.
Physical Characteristics-Stay true to your race.
Personal Characteristics-Try your best to play to the characteristics. These are somewhat based on your Alignment and Background
Backstory-Make sure your Background is apart of your BackStory. When did you get to the “Guild”?
Organization-We will all be from the same Guild/Club/Clan/Tribe/Group/Unit/Outfit/Company/LLC
Equipment can be starting equipment or gold. Roll only once for the gold.
This would be 5th Edition rules. I am trying to get a good crew together. We would be playing on Roll20 and using discord as the voice chat. Please respect others time and if you say you will show up please show up unless its an emergency meaning you have to be reliable. This does not mean you have to make every session. Friday evenings or Saturdays would be ideal.
