Game: Narrative based. Simple self-made up. Easy to understand in no time and consistent. Group preferred: Online Experience: New, however already very successfully DMed this campaign Location/Timezone: Germany/Poland Availability: Preferred weekends. During working days possible Preferred role: DM Game style: Apocalyptic, From Zero to Hero, Grim and gritty.
Languages: ENG / GER / PL
My motivation:
Hi everyone, I am offering an experience in a carefully self-made up campaign. I put lots of thoughts and hours into this adventure and already led a group of D&D veterans through my campaign. Since I got a remarkable response from those players even the skeptical ones (it was my first time DMing), I decided to try and share my campaign with others in hopes to recreate the same amazing experience I had with my previous group.
Short World description:
It has been 10 years when the sun suddenly disappeared from the sky in a bright flash. The world became cold and dark. Food is scarce. Resources are few. Things that help you survive are more valuable than anyone could have imagined before the long dark. Many villages didn't survive and those who did fight not only for survival but for sanity. You start in Nordhag, once a rich farm town. Now it became a mining town which survives because it lies on the main trade route to Tralop which is a town near an active volcano. In Nordhag no one mines for minerals they are mining the lake for frozen fish, seagrass and peat. Nordhag is ruled by a popular major which tries with the power he has been given to hold the town together and away from despair. One day a blind girl comes to you and offers you great payment to help her deliver a package to the nearby orc settlement. The reward is too temping to decline. So you are off to meet with this lovely girl and help her deliver what ever she needs.
Campaign:
You are off to a relatively simple looking task. However, events change and soon you find your self in a world of despair and danger. But although all the dark things that lurk in the shadows there is still warmth and humility that has survived and will aid you in whatever trouble you find yourself.
About me:
I am 32 years old and had the occasion to play DSA (A German pen and paper RPG) in middle school. I remember it to be one of my best storytelling experiences I had in my life. The world I imaged was vivid and thrilling. This experience and the fact that I am currently studying as a film director lead me to the thought that pen and paper games could give me good training in story telling. So far I am not disappointed, to be honest I am absolutely blown away how similar these departments are and so my journey begins and continues to tell great and interesting stories to which I would gladly invite anyone who is willing to give it a try. My highest aim as a DM is to give you the player a mind-blowing experience. This is my greatest satisfaction and motivation. So player decisions and story are always first (including tense combat ;-) )
Expectations to players:
- Openness for a simple but effective and easy to understand new game system (the purpose is to not stall throwing many dices and have rules needed for this world)
- Readiness to give your character some backstory
- Be polite as a person but real as a character
- Players who play their character faithful are very welcome.
Game system:
The game system revolves mainly around the main character trades (Strength, Dex, etc.) These with the addition of proficiencies are leveling up and decide what you are capable of doing. However, the utmost important thing is your characters story which decides who you are and what you are able to do. My DMing focuses not only around strict fighting but has thought and care for all other classes except magic. Well here comes a bummer for some who like playing magic character. Since I am pretty new to DMing I decided to avoid magic for now. This world I created has some magic in it, but it is a very rare occasion to be found. If you are interested to play the campaign I will explain the game system in more detail to you personally.
I am happy to hear any feedback about what is written here. Any help is much appreciated.
Interesting concept! What is the primary language for the campaign? I'm afraid my German is terrible and my Polish is non-existent :) What time ranges would the sessions occur in?
My English skills should be sufficient to lead this campaign even though it is not my native tongue. Except for German sounding town names the campaign should be perfectly able to be played in English.
Well since I am based in Europe I should be able to offer a time window of
