Take a Lich down, eh? Sure, he'll be able to do that... with his party's help. Soloing a lich is quite the tall order.
Still, if that's the goal, having those sorcerer levels is better than not having them. Now, keep in mind that while the lich has their legendary resistances, they have a relatively small HP pool. You'll only have spells up to 3rd for sorcerer at that point, but it's okay, cause you'll have access to up to 7th level slots. So, you can play your paladin by becoming a counterspell+subtle spell bot, and spend your actions attacking and smiting. The lich won't be able to percieve your counterspell, so If you counterspell their disintegrate, you can gaurantee it by spending a 6th lvl counterspell without worry that their counterpsll will be used against yours. You're going to do your best to waste their slots in this manner turn after turn. Before long, you have to have brute forced your way to victory.
And I had a doubt about if all the Paladins have Auras, and the area-of-effect is a circle, then "the real aura's shape" is the half of an Sphere or it's a Cylinder ( vertically oriented ) ???
So I am thinking of taking 6 lvls in sorcerer, but I am wondering if it is worth it.
I would want to go with Aberrant mind for the sub class.
My end go is for him to get strong enough to take down a lich.
Ideas?
