Hey y’all. I’m putting together a short campaign with level 10 PCs and I just finished making a Thri-kreen gunslinger that me and my player are super happy with. After we finished I checked the character sheet and somehow he has a +17 on all his ranged attacks. His dex is maxed, his proficiency bonus is +4 and he has the archery fighting style. I can see how this got him to +11 (still nuts to me) but where did the other +6 come from? I’m so confused. He simply won’t miss a shot, which is cool af but now I gotta rebalance my encounters. Anyone have any ideas on how this happened or how I can fix it?
Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
Don't be mean. Rudeness is a vicious cycle, and it has to stop somewhere. Exceptions for things that are funny. Go to the current Competition of the Finest 'Brews! It's a cool place where cool people make cool things.

He has Sharpshooter and Gunner as feats, but to my understanding that doesn’t add any bonuses. The only homebrew item is a laser pistol I threw together, but I selected a pistol as the base weapon and didn’t change any real stats about it, just gave it a description.
Hmm, maybe try unequipping a couple of the weapons and see if that makes a difference. It's possible having them all equipped is creating some weird cross-talk in the calculations.
Edit: If I had to guess, thinking about the numbers, somehow prof and the Archery fighting style are being applied twice.
That is peculiar. I'd say Ace is probably right, it seems like somehow it's taking some bonuses from both items and combining them. See if it works when you unequip one or the other, and test out some other weapons too.

It might be the fighting style. There's a bug related to it where you can accidentally stack it during selection. Try removing the fighting style until the sheet actually agrees that the PC has no fighting style selected, and see what your bonus to attack is then.

Any feats, magical items, or homebrew?

If this is a D&DB character sheet, can you link it here?

That was it! I guess I’d managed to apply archery 4 times, and now it’s all fixed. Thank you all for the quick help!!
