I have a Satyr PC and he has magic resistance and I just want to make sure that I understand how it works after doing a little research:
Am I right in thinking that if an enemy wizard casts fireball on the party, my Satyr PC would have advantage on the Saving throw to avoid it? Then if he was to fail the Dex save, he would take full damage bc the fireball does fire damage?
He wouldn't also have resistance to the fire damage bc fire resistance is a separate thing, correct?
I feel like that makes the most sense to me! But maybe I'm misunderstanding, so I just wanted to double check.

That is correct.
I have a weird sense of humor.
I also make maps.(That's a link)
It just does what it says: advantage on saves against spells and magic.
Doesn't say damage resistance, doesn't do damage resistance.
Satyr Bearbarians are creepy
