I'm interested in making a custom pantheon of gods for my as yet unplayed campaign world. I have a basic structure and ideas, but I'd like feedback and stuff.
Before I get to the basics, I want to acknowledge that this is not a whole cloth original creation, it takes elements of 4th Editions "Dawn War" gods and Green Ronin's Book of the Righteous. It's also Influenced by some elements from NADDPOD https://www.naddpod.com/ both the Bahumia and Trinyvale campaigns.
Okay, the idea I have is that the world has three real gods, that call themselves siblings. First are two twin sisters, Erathis, goddess of Law, and Avandra, goddess of Chaos. They are associated with the elements of Earth and Fire, respectively, but have many other spheres of influence as well. They are joined by *PLACEHOLDER NAME*, god of crafting, magic, and building, associated with water, often referred to as "Little Brother"
There is a class of demigods that are not truly immortal semi-abstract beings like the gods, but fulfill minor roles throughout the universe.
There once was a god referred to now as "Elder Brother" god of air and the sky, who sacrificed his divine life to destroy the Corruptor, a malevolent entity that sought to unmake the world.
The main gods lean to good, while the main deific antagonists are evil demigods and demon lords.

Personally in my worlds there are deities but they don't do anything other than supply power to those who need a diety for casting or such.
Have fun with your patheon. I have started developing the idea of Darwin, god of naturalists. His followers are on a quest to promote survival of the fittest.
That sounds a bit like the cosmology from NK Jemisin’s inheritance trilogy. You might want to check it out.
Come to think of it, you might want to then go on and read every word she writes, because she’s a fricking genius. Literally, she won a MacArthur grant in 2020.
