First of all, if anyone from my campaign sees this post, no you didn't.
Okay, now that they're gone - I'm playing a College of Spirits bard in a Curse of Strahd game. My character's backstory is that he was a charlatan medium who suddenly developed the ability to actually communicate with ghosts shortly before the start of the campaign. At present, he can't control his powers. Sometimes he sees ghosts and on occasion becomes possessed. Since entering Barovia, Strahd has taken a liking to him and decided he wants him for his harem. After getting whisked away to the castle and undergoing a freaky blood ritual, my bard is now a stage one baby vampire.
I don't want him to have too many gimmicks, so I'm trying to think of ways his budding vampirism can interact with his medium abilities, but so far I'm not having a lot of ideas. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Just because you have an ability doesn't require you to make use of it. You can always choose not to use a class or racial power.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
