So, Im new to DnD and todays my first game. Im playing an Dwarf, with the backstory that he was member of the Royal Guard in an fallen dwarven kingdom. Is there any lore that could back up my characters lore? I really dont know anything about it and the others in the group constantly talk about "DnD Lore", so... I guess theres gotta be a red line somewhere, but I didnt find anything about a fallen dwarfen city. so... Let me know if I can just think about something "new" or if theres any backstory that could back up my characters lore pls thx

This is really a discussion to have with the DM -- it's their world, whether homebrew or straight from a sourcebook, so your backstory needs to fit that world. Some DMs are willing to work with you and add elements to the world to support your backstory, but inventing an entire new dwarven kingdom for you might be a bit much
That said... there are ways you can meet your DM halfway. "Fallen" has a few meanings. You're probably thinking in terms of a kingdom that got conquered, but what if your character considers it "fallen" in a moral sense? Maybe the rulers have been corrupted by something evil, so the kingdom has "fallen" from the light, and you're now on the run after learning too much about it. Or maybe you're just a dwarf out of sync with their own time who wants to adhere to the old ways while the kingdom has embraced a more modern outlook on life, and so you consider it "fallen" and disgraced even if there aren't many who share that view
Figure out the core elements of what's attracting you to playing the character (based on your post: dwarf, presumably a melee type, who once held a fairly important or prestigious position back home and now doesn't For Reasons) and work with the DM to make the specific details around that fit into their world
Carric Aquissar, elven wannabe artist in his deconstructionist period (Archfey warlock) Lan Kidogo, mapach archaeologist and treasure hunter (Knowledge cleric) Mardan Ferres, elven private investigator obsessed with that one unsolved murder (Assassin rogue) Xhekhetiel, halfling survivor of a Betrayer Gods cult (Runechild sorcerer/fighter)

Depends on the setting elaborate where your characters are from, if its from homebrew worlds I can't give you any specific information.
