This thread will be to retell, to the best of my ability, the first campaign series i have started, including my first actual campaign. This post won't be much of the real story, because I don't currently have my notebook to recall the order of things, but I'll give characters, backstory, and the start. Also, the campaign goes to weird places, I told the players that anything goes, so you may not want to read it all.
So, our starting cast consist of: My DMPC (Yes, I use them). Adol'in Dolva, an Aereni High Elf fiend warlock. He's chaotic evil. Garzania T. Noble, a half elf, descendant of a PC from another campaign, and a ranger. He's true neutral, really just chaotic neutral. Deez Nahts (yep), an Aarakocra light cleric. He's lawful good. Jack the Gutter (Not the PC's real name, but he used his actual name so I changed it.), a wood elf blood hunter. He was neutral evil I believe.
The story is about 6 legendary weapons, and 6 heroes. They are known as the legends. There's the weapons known as the Strength Striker, the Dexterity Arch, the Constitution Crusher, Wisdom Enchantment, Intelligence Arcana, and Sonic Charisma. These take the form of gems embedded in weapons, that can change into just gems. The first campaign features the first heroes in the bloodline. Adol'in is the Strength hero, Garzania is the Dexterity hero, Deez is the Wisdom hero, and Jack is the Charisma hero. The weapons have the power to absorb the spirits of significant monsters to gain new powers and abilities, and they work in strange ways. They also have the power of followers, where if a hero had a follower, the weapon would embed a gem in an item of theirs, giving them some powers the hero had gotten.
The first campaign was called Rising Legends.
The session start with all of the character's living out their normal lives, as they suddenly feel the area warping around them, as they get transported. All of their visions black out, as they then see they're in a completely different land, one that none of them recognize. What they do all recognize is that strange gems are in each of their hands, and upon further inspection, they turn into weapons. Adol'in's turns into a short sword, Garzania's turns into a short bow, Deez's turns into a metal staff, and Jack's turns into a whip. Garzania says, "I don't know who any of you are, but I'll go on my own way.", and Jack goes on his own way to. Adol'in starts walking to, and Deez follows for companionship. As they all followed trails into a forest, each group meets a goblin. Garzania sees it before it notices him, and prepares his bow. He shoots it down, and shoots it again before it can reach him. He then noticed that a soul flies out of it, and into the gem of his weapon. His weapon then unlocks a new ability that he understands, letting him summon arrows, to a point. Jack walks down the path, and finds his own goblin to fight. He takes a crack of his whip at it, but it's still alive. After the goblin attacks, he pulls out a sword to stab it, as it's soul flies out. His whip absorbs it, learning a new power to temporarily raise his charisma. Adol'in and Deez walks down, finding a goblin, but one with superior abilities. Adol'in goes to attack it with brute force, as Deez flies over to attack it with sacred flame, I believe that was the cantrip. After it dies, the soul flies out into Deez's weapon (We decided who got the spirits by vote, when there were multiple people around). Deez then gets a new power, letting him learn healing rituals. The first of them he learned was called Minor Heal, taking some material components to use. The group then meets up at the end of the trails, as Jack is holding the corpse of the goblin, and eats it. He was a cannibal, so he ate humanoids. They all then looks at each other, as a badger jumps out from the bushes to attack the group at the smell of blood. Garfield then tames it instead of killing it, and the party ends up keeping him. Continuing down the path, the group runs into two thieves, challenging them. They actually posed trouble for them, because the party had bad teamwork at this point, not trusting each other, being thrown into this situation suddenly. After beating them, they take their gold, and Garzania does trust Jack enough to let his badger drag along the dead bodies, as Deez had compromised with him that if he needs to eat, then he can save the defeated enemies for later. Walking down the path, the party sees a walled kingdom, with guards waiting at the gate. "Heroes, we've been desperately awaiting you. Please follow us." The party then accepts the welcoming, as they are lead to the castle. Inside, They see 5 kings seated, and a few princesses, as Garzania goes over to flirt with them. The center king then says, "Ahem... Heroes, we have needed your help for a time now. I am the king, and these other men are kings of their own kingdoms, but have been chased out by unnatural forces. We know of the legends, saying that the heroes of the abilities that guide combat will come from another world and save ours from the powerful force of undeath. While we need you, I want to know how strong you truly are." The group agrees to this challenge, as the king pulls on a rope near a wall, and the other kings jump back as a goblin falls in front of the party. They then make quick work of it, and start to trust in each other a little, at least in the sense of combat, as they are all apart of the same prophecy. Adol'in then absorbs the spirit of the goblin into his sword, and unlocks the power of sword skills. His first skill that he unlocks is called Lowlife Slash. They all then reach level 2, and the session ends.
All stars fade. Some stars forever fall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Homebrew (Mostly Outdated):Magic Items,Monsters,Spells,Subclasses ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If there was no light, people wouldn't fear the dark.
Some details I have missed are actually important. Kinda. Jack has a magical talking banana that he takes along with him, he's always had it. Deez has a barn owl that he had nurtured back at his tribe's home. Garzania has a force called the Lasagna Force, connecting him to ancestors. Adol'in's patron is a homebrew demon lord named Infernaliae, who fancies to him.
The group wanders around the kingdom shortly, looking at shops. While they all had decent funds from the king and the thieves they robbed, they couldn't buy the high quality things they wanted. Garzania wanted to buy an elephant, but settled for a camel. Deez also got a pet, Clifford the St. Bernard. They decide to then take up a task from the kings. "Heroes, we have a task we must ask you do. You must free the kingdoms that have been overrun. There are four others among this land, and the first is westward.", the main king had told them, and so they went. They walked down the trail, finding a wererat running up towards them. The party decided to refrain from attacking, as he says, "Please, the kingdom is being ravaged still! I know a path that will take you there quickly, I just need it to be saved." The party then agrees without question, even to why he was in his hybrid form. He then leads them down a path with a pitfall trap, just being a large hole with rats in it. The party of course makes quick work out of them. After they've climbed out, they start back on the path. While walking, the path leads up the side of a mountain, which gives away. Garzania and Deez fall, but Deez flies up, trying to bring Garzania. His grip slips, but he doesn't want to split the group up any further, and stays with Adol'in and Jack, because he was a coward. As Garzania wanders around the base of the mountain, he has to deal with 2 simple goblins. He dashes around the trees trying to get an advantage, shooting whenever he can, as they also try to shoot back, in a futile attempt. The group at the top treads along, running into an additional 2 goblins, and a stronger goblin. Adol'in stabs them with his rapier rather than using his weapon, Jack shoots at them with his blood curse active, using a hand crossbow. Lastly Deez finishes them off by sending in Clifford to attack. As the badger had fell with Garzania, they had Clifford carry the bodied, and Adol'in got to absorb the stronger goblin, because they thought he may want it. This unlocked Lowlife Slash v2, and the power to raise his strength temporarily. Garzania then continued down the path he chose, running into the wererat that he had fought before. He had shot at him with a longbow that he had, but it simply didn't harm the wererat. The wererat then used his own hand crossbow to shoot at Garzania. Trying to stay alive, Garzania used his Dexterity Arch to see if it damaged the wererat, as it shot straight into him. After the wererat misses his shot out of panic, Garzania shoots him with a critical, right in the head. His weapon then absorbs the wererat, unlocking the power spell arrows, and a spell arrow called Mythical Hunter. The group then meets at the base of the mountain, where the paths meet up. It was around nightfall at the time, so the group sets up a camp. Deez decides to get food, and spear fish. As the group takes a long rest, with everyone but Deez simply sitting in a meditative state. A ghoul creeps up at the end, attacking Adol'in. He attacks with eldritch blast, as Deez holds up his holy symbol to cast sacred flame. The next to get up is Garfield, shooting the ghoul with his longbow, and Jack finishes it with his whip and blood curse. The group then gathers their supplies, checks the ghoul, and heads out. While walking, they see a kingdom that has been heavily demolished by undead, and the session ends.
The group walks up to the kingdom, entering it. There's a man that can be seen in the distance who tries to run for the group to the best of his limits, but is already grabbed by a swarm of ghouls devouring him. Deez casts sacred flame, starting combat, on one of the 5 ghouls. Adol'in casts burning hands to hurt a majority of the ghouls, killing the one Deez attacked. Jack had pulled out two hand crossbows, one given to him by Garzania from the wererat, and kills two more. Garzania shoots at a ghoul, also killing it. The last ghoul goes for an attack on Adol'in, being the closest, and deals some damage, but Deez quickly kills him with a mace. As the group walks to clear out the kingdom, another wererat runs in to attack, charging at Garzania first. Jack attacks, only able to deal damage with his blood rite, and Deez once again uses sacred flame. Adol'in kills the wererat with a swift stab of the Strength Striker. On him, the group finds a small local map, crudely written. It shows two things, a location of people, and their destination. They first go to the stashed away people. "Oh, people have come to help!", the group heard as soon as they opened the door, seeing an overcrowded space. Getting straight to the point, the party talks to the people to see whats up, except Adol'in who just waited outside. Deez asks, "Will you people exit the kingdom now to safety?", but they refused, with the fact that they were all afraid of monsters roaming around outside. Garzania demanded some supplies for their help, and they give 15 rations collectively, being all they had. The group then leaves them be until they clear out the kingdom. Going to the destination, the group finds a particular zombie. It appears more knowledgeable, and looks to the party. He sends two ghouls after the group, and Jack is attacked first. He dodges it, but as the other one attacks Adol'in, he gets hit. The zombie then casts firebolt on Garzania. He gets lightly singed, but goes to shoot him, dealing heavy damage but not killing. Deez tries to fend off ghouls with Jack, and Adol'in gets away from the ghoul he was dealing with to cast chill touch on it. Once the ghouls had died, the zombie tries to escape, being shot by Garzania yet again. Garzania is given the spirit, and gains the use of the ability to temporarily increase his dexterity, along with necrotic shot. As the party gets ready to see what they've gotten from the battle, they feel the ground shake. The ground slowly rises up, and the group splits up quickly. Garzania goes to looks for a place to jump, hanging over a lake. He jumps in to the lake, because he was a storm half elf, and could swim well. Jack finds an area full of falling debris, as his weapons activates, compelling him to go that way. He is able to make safe jumps down, and performs the stunt perfectly. Adol'in finds himself at an edge with a hard surface lying at the bottom, as his weapon also activates to compel him down. He crashes into the hard dried earth, taking a small amount of damage. Deez had decided to fly down to Adol'in, staying with him, knowing that he would be scared alone, and that he actually taken a liking to the chaotic evil demon worshiper. With the group separated from each other, they see a massive crater that use to have a kingdom in it, now thinking about the people that were still up there. Night falls, and each set of people sets up camp. Adol'in and Deez can faintly see the main kingdom, and decide it would be a good direction to head. Garfield doesn't know his location, and decides to look for the nearest settlement to him. Jack decides to try and find someone from the group, particularly Garfield. Adol'in and Deez end up finding a band of 5 goblins while travelling. Adol'in first casts burning hands, as Deez tries to throw nearby rocks at them. The goblins retaliate, swinging at Adol'in, and 2 of them stay back to try and shoot Deez. Deez dodges both arrows shot, while Adol'in takes one hit. The goblins are killed easily in the next round, with one having a cape that Adol'in checks out. Looking at it's magical properties, he can tell it is something demonic, but isn't sure what it does, and puts it on. The group then heads out. They find a rickidy boat near a river, which wouldn't be much quicker than walking, but takes less effort to get to the kingdom. Garzania walks until he finds a bandit, holding a special seeming sword. The bandit attacks, as Garzania holds a meaningful conversation in combat, using a longsword he kept for close ranged battle. Through the battle, he wears down the bandit, until Garzania spares him, and just asks to take his weapon. "I don't want you to try and kill me, but you can follow me to try and get a new life." The bandit agrees, and explains that his sword is actually called the Bountiful Blade, which can turn the people he kills into rations that he lives off of. They then head to the closest settlement the bandit knew, where they rest. Jack then tries to find Garzania, but ends up running into a thief. The thief poses a little bit of threat, but Jack eyes a ring they have, with some questionable decorations for a normal ring. He shoots the thief, and they try to cut him with their dagger, going back and forth until the thief is down. Jack uses his weapon to raise his charisma, persuading the thief to follow him, because he wants to find his friend. He succeeds, takes the ring, and lets them keep their weapons. The thief didn't know about what the ring did, but as they wandered, they found the settlement that Garzania had found, meeting up with him. They then actually talk with the bandit, whispering in front of the thief. "We decided that you could become a group together, to make a living for yourselves." The thief then humbly agrees, somewhat thankful for the opportunity, as Garzania handed the sword back to the thief. They walked away, but Garzania and Jack had actually told the bandit that he could kill the thief, which he did. That's the end of that session.
Also, by this point they became level 4, they leveled up at the midpoint of this session, and again at the end. I give out levels easily.
Here I am with the next part after a while. Since the group is now a high enough level, I'll say what they picked for subclasses. Adol'in was a fiend warlock, and it now pact of the tome. Deez was already a light cleric, nothing changed there. Garzania had become a beast master, with a pet pteranodon. Jack had joined the order of the mutant, for... reasons.
Garzania and Jack have stayed to rest in the village for a short period, and Adol'in and Deez had ridden their boat to the castle. Once Garzania and Jack start to head out to look for the others, they run into a monk right outside of the village. He points to the two of them and says, "I am a worshiper of the Great Mother. I'd like to fight you as of right now." At this point, Garzania quietly tells Jack to let him fight them in a one on one. The monk pulls out no weapons, standing in the tree tops, and Garzania pulls out his Dexterity Arch, climbing into the trees. When the fight starts, Garzania gets a shot in on the monk, preparing to go in with his longsword after giving away his location. The monk swiftly retaliated before Garzania used his longsword, giving a harsh strike to his stomach. Garzania was still able to fight, and struck with his longsword, as his pteranodon, named Stalin (yep) attacked afterwords. He got hit down to the ground from the trees, making a hard thump. The monk then got up, and said that was enough. He then says he'll explain himself, but we'll talk about what Jack was doing. Jack had decided to go and find some kind of salesman in the village that could give him a scroll with the spell sleep. He then finds one, and is willing to pay all of his money for it. He then walks to the side of a saloon, peeping through the window. He spots 2 women in there, and casts sleep. One of them falls asleep, so he then actually took her, and had raped her (Jack was an evil character, and in no way a good guy). The group with Adol'in and Deez then got the spotlight before the monk had told anything. While they were travelling, the boat had gotten to water to shallow to take it in, and they decided walking would work better. They find a group consisting of two goblins and a hobgoblin that actually has the eye of a gazer inside of it's forehead. Deez tries to get one of the goblins that's farthest away from the battle, and Adol'in had been ready to torment the rest. He quickly killed the goblin with his Strength Striker with the sword skill Lowlife Slash. The Hobgoblin had then looked at him and used a paralyzing beam, which failed. Deez killed the goblin he was fighting, and joined Adol'in's side. Adol'in then casted a spell he recently learned on the hobgoblin, scorching ray, crippling one of his legs. The hobgoblin then realized he was going to die if this continued, and asks for the group to listen. Adol'in was going to answer no, and Deez would have said ok, but before they could talk, he was killed from behind as another monster quickly appeared in front of the two. For a second, they saw a werewolf that also had a gazer's eye in it, as it glowed, and he turned to ash. Then they heard rustling in the foliage, as Garzania and Jack walk out with the monk. "I guess it's a good time to explain right now. I am a monk of the Great Mother, goddess of beholders. She didn't wish for you all to die, but wanted to test your power.", the monk explained, as he then pointed to the ashes, "He disobeyed her will, and was killed for it. Also, the reason for testing you is the threat that there is towards her, and she thinks you are meant to stop it." He then pulls an item from the werewolf's ashes, called a seal of pseudo bond, and the weapons absorb the werewolf and hobgoblin's spirits. Garzania had gotten the werewolf soul, and Jack had gotten the hobgoblin. They unlocked Mythical Hunter v2 and Intimidation of Fear, respectively. The group had said farewells, making a new acquaintance, and headed to the kingdom once again. The party finds a merchant on their way, with a small stand and one item for sale. He told them he didn't know what it was, but the box was unbreakable, and he would sell it for 5000 gold. At this point, the party didn't make a whole lot of money. They then talked with each other, keeping Deez out of the conversation. After having a civilized talk, reaching an agreement, they told Deez to go look at a tree and cover his ears. The three of them then proceeded to gang up on the salesman, killing and robbing him. They then drag Deez away without saying a thing. After a little more travel, the group gets into the throne room of the kingdom. The king surprisingly glares at them, along with the others. The guards then seize them all. "You all are working against us, aren't you, you so called heroes? One of the soldiers whom is most loyal to us had said they saw you four kill innocent people, and even send the landmass away. We will find out who you work for." The party are all confused, as the guards start to take them away. Garzania's weapon sends a surge of power through him, letting him escape easily, and Deez breaks free, then flies away. Adol'in and Jack then get taken away to the prison. Garzania then talks with Deez, wondering what could have been mistaken for innocent people being killed. They then thought maybe the soldier had seen them kill the undead from a distance. That's the end of the session.
Here is the next part, after a majority of the heroes have been arrested.
While Deez and Garzania were trying to figure out a way to free the two in jail, they had been trying their own things. Adol'in had figured the guards must have keys, and Jack thought that some rats could be helpful. Adol'in got the guard over, and grabbed him through the bars, choking him. Jack then proceeded to throw rats at the guard, as he was dying a slow and painful death. Jack then said, "First, I want his body. Second, what if we just keep the keys inside of the cell, and wait for the others." Adol'in agreed, and they sat there. Meanwhile, Deez and Garzania were outside the kingdom walls, watching people do work, mainly slaves. They both then had the idea to try and set up a rally. Garzania had given out speeches to the people, gaining dozens of followers, then he tried getting them to revolt. The people then died. With that plan failing, Garzania said, "Ok, let's try it again", but as there being no people left, Deez had an idea. "What if we look around to see if there's a way into the prison?" So they went with that plan. Deez and Garzania then find an entry into the sewers to try and get to them. In the sewers though, they found this gang of wererats, somewhat feral and violent. They actually had peculiar items on them, which the two decided could be magical. Garzania had started first, using Mythical Hunter to deal the most damage from the start. Deez then shot his sacred flame at the same one. One of the wererats had a flail, which extended all the way over to them, and retracted. Another then threw his dagger, missing, but it returned to his hand after that. After rounds of combat had passed, they defeated a total of 3 wererats, taking the flail, dagger, and a hilt of sword, with magic seeming properties. There was a minor casualty though, as Deez contracted lycanthropy. The two then run through the sewers, finding their way into the prison, seeing Jack sitting and eating part of the guard. "Wait, you guys could have escaped the whole time!", is what Garzania yelled at them, and Adol'in just replied "Well we have the keys, that's like half the work." They then hear a bells ringing in the room above. They figure the guards may have found out they were escaping, so they ran out through the sewers. Once the group, now in it's entirety, escaped, Jack got grazed by an arrow sent in their direction. They could all see a line of archers on top of the kingdom walls, and so they ran into a forest. Adol'in then decided to step up and say, "Ok, we've been branded as criminals.", and Deez had the idea, "Well, if we can clear our names, then we could go back.", but none of them had an idea of how to do so. They then all figured, "We know what needs to be done. We'll save all of the kingdoms, and find out what's causing this." They all walk towards to closest kingdom they can see, which in in a mountainous region past the forest. While they walked though, some mercenaries, a human and an elf, had found them. "Everyone knows well that you guys are stronger than the lot. But they spared no expense to have you tracked down immediately.", as the human explained to the party, with the elf arguing back about giving information. The elf then got in the first strike, shooting a firebolt at Jack, having just dissipated on his armor. Deez sent in Clifford, who attacked the human first, injuring him badly. Adol'in then came in to stab him with his rapier, finishing him off. Jack had retaliated against the elf, shooting him with freezing bolts from his crossbow, and Garzania had shot at him, with his pteranodon, named Stalin, swooping in to kill him. Deez's weapon then absorbs the soul of the elf, which allows him to unlock the ability to learn a wizard cantrip. As the group walked to the next kingdom, they are interrupted yet again. This time it was a man in dark robes, pointing to the group. "Heroes. If you have the box, then come with me.", he told them. And that's the end of that session. Everyone is level 5 at this point.
It's been a while, but I've come back to continue the retelling. One important detail I missed is that the group actually stopped by a village a while ago, where Deez was able to find a small glass bottle of water, containing a sea horse in it. He adopted it as his pet, and likes to play with it.
The man in robes leads the heroes after they agree to follow him. He opens a secret passage that opens a cave entry, with a pedestal inside. "Place the box on the pedestal, and continue down.", he told the group, so they did. They go down the cave into a chamber, and in the first they see nothing but an ornate rug on the floor. The rug then jumps at them. Deez is grappled by the rug, as it starts to try and suffocate him. Garzania then pulls out his longsword to try and cut Deez free, but ends up doing a lot of damage to him and the rug. Jack says, "Well the rug won't just let go, I'm going to attack it", as he shoots his crossbow at it. On Deez's turn, he casts sacred flame while being wrapped by the rug, hurting both, but the rug goes limp as it's burnt. Deez decides to salvage the rug and keeps it, after Adol'in absorbs the spirit, because everyone decided he didn't have many. The party heads into the next chamber, which is just a room with some food and healing potions. Deez used most of them, since he had taken all of the damage. They then all walk into the next room, as the floor splits, dropping each hero into their own room, having to face off against a wererat each. Adol'in casts scorching ray, and finishes off the wererat he fights with eldritch blast. He took some light damage, not dodging any attack. Jack fights against the wererat in his room, relying on his rites to kill his enemy. He dodges an attack, and shoots the wererat full of bolts. Garzania fights against one, starting off by shooting a volley of arrows with Mythical Hunter, but not before getting bit. The battle ends quickly, but Garzania feels off. Lastly was Deez, dealing with his enemy by casting sacred flame, as they exchanged a few blows. In the next room, they all meet up, with even more potions awaiting them. They then head into the next room. A gazer is seen in the middle of the chamber, and the party goes in to try and kill it quickly. After a few missed hits and an exchange of attacks, Jack is paralyzed by a ray, and Garzania lands the finishing blow with his longsword. The spirit flies out, and Garzania absorbs it, but something different happens. As this is the 5th spirit his weapon has absorbed, he sees a vision with two paths. He then hears a voice that says, "You see two paths ahead of you. The Path of the Hunter, and the Path of the Blur, which do you choose to go down." Garzania doesn't understand what it really means, as he tries to see down each path, but neither are very clear, all he can make out is shadows in one, and he can feel a promise of speed in the other. He goes down the Path of the Blur. Everyone watches as his weapon changes a little, becoming leaner, and the gem it comes from has split into two, both a part of the bow. He then gains the ability called Blur Blast, letting him increase his speed for a short burst. After witnessing that, Garzania brings up the fact that he was feeling strange after fighting the wererat, and Deez check him for diseases. He contracted lycanthropy. They decide he needs to find a cure for it soon, but it may take a while since they're on the run now. They then head into the next chamber, holding potions yet again. They then go into the last room, seeming like the biggest, as they see a werebear at the other side. Deez sees this as his moment to get more power, from one of his favored animals. He goes to attack it, trying to provoke it with his mace. Jack decides to shoot it and say, "Why are you not trying to kill it!", and Deez replies with, "I come from a tribe of other Aarakocra, but they had all been attacked by a dragon. I didn't have the power to fight it then, but I could now! I can kill it, and maybe any survivors could be able to return to the tribe." The group then decides, all looking at each other from across the battlefield. They agree to help Deez, by pinning the werebear. Adol'in casts command and speaks, "Kneel", forcing the werebear to get down. Garzania grapples it tight, holding open the werebear's mouth. It isn't able to free itself, and Deez goes to put his arm in the werebear's mouth. He doesn't feel any different, so they try again, but the werebear breaks free. After trying to subdue it, with Jack grappling it this time, Deez tries again, feeling something about him change. They think that it worked They then kill the werebear, already having it in their grasp, as they hear the sound of something land behind them. The robed figure stands, as a pedestal rises with the box now having a key in it. "Those battles must have been fierce, something I couldn't handle, but now I can take the treasure from you all.", the robed figure says as he throws of the robe, revealing that he's wearing a magical raiment, holding a magical sword and shield. The group then defends the box, while engaging with the man. He goes to attack Garzania with a rapier in hand, but he misses his attack. Deez then casts sacred flame on the man, as he seems do not affect him much, and his shield glows faintly. Garzania then yells to everyone, "Guy, don't use magic on him! I think that shield could be a problem!" But his words fall flat as Adol'in attacks with eldritch blast, as he says, "Someone as weak and pitiful as him couldn't make a difference in power with whatever items he has." Jack uses his whip, and tries to evoke fear in the man, but fails. Garzania then takes his turn to shoot at the man, hitting, but he notices that the raiment glows and he seems to look less damaged. He then takes another stab at Garzania, and he can feel the force behind the attack being unrealistic for the man's build. Deez uses a crossbow he keeps as back up to shoot at the man, hitting. Adol'in uses eldritch blast again, as the shield glows even brighter, and the man smiles. Jack uses his whip to attack this time, getting a hit and a miss. The raiment then glows yet again, repairing some of the man's injuries. Garzania then says, "This guy is to tough, but his magic items give him most of his power!", as he goes to try and grab the raiment off of him, succeeding. The man then looks angrily at him, and points his shield at Adol'in, releasing a blast of pure magical energy from it, hitting him with a fraction of all the damage he's taken from spells. That just makes him angrier. Deez uses his mace to bash the man, landing a blow, seeming to phase the man more. Adol'in blasts him with eldritch blast again, hitting hard. Even though the shield absorbs some of damage, he is getting weaker. Jack then prepares both of his crossbows, and punches holes in the man with them, leaving frostbite on his body and ice, as he falls and dies. Garzania takes the sword, Deez takes the raiment, and Jack takes the shield. They don't know what these items do exactly, but they can tell that the shield has some connection to their weapons. After the long battle, they group turns to the box. Garzania opens it, as surge of magic brushes over the world. There's a not in the box saying, "This is an item Called Wish Upon a Star. It can be used three times to grant wishes, but on the third wish, someone's money will disappear.", and he puts it on. They wonder what they should use the wishes on, and Garzania's first idea is to cure himself of lycanthropy. The ring does so. Deez then asks if Garzania can give him a portable water bubble for his sea horse. He does it, and the ring grants the wish. Garzania then hands his money over to Deez, and realizes he can't wish for money now. He uses his last wish to tell the ring to destroy whatever is causing their problems. He simply hears it say that it can't be done, and the ring turns to dust. The event left the group with a new question of what could possibly be to strong for the wish they just used. They disregard it, and Deez decided to try reanimating the rug when they exit the chamber into the outside. He has no luck with it, and instead keeps it on him. That's the end of the session.
Oh man, I haven't had the time to do this for a while. Might just be a free time thing to do, but I'll post another!
After the group exits the area that held the powerful Wish Upon a Star, they find themselves in another situation. 10 foot soldiers found them, all at least a little armed, ready to take down the party they saw as criminals. Deez had tried his best to defend himself, with the rest of the group actively fighting. They made quick work of them, being stronger than any average soldier at this point, and the four being together. They continue down the path they chose to follow to the next kingdom, and they all notice markings in the area. Deez examines it and can tell that a beholder is around, using his knowledge to warn it that people supported by the Great Mother were coming through, avoiding a tough conflict. They all continue further of course, and see a knight from the kingdom, with nicer looking equipment than most. "So, you're the heroes. You don't look so tough to me. Framing you must have given you all a hard time out here. My master wants your head now, because making you all a disgrace to the kingdom wasn't enough." This causes the group to get frenzied. Not as disordered as angry though. Adol'in took his sword straight to him, drawing first blood. Deez had dealt some damage with sacred flame, then Jack came in to shoot him full of bolts. Garzania tackled him to the ground, as the knight struggled to get free. The group was able to subdue him, hurting him little by little in the process, tiring him out. After tying him up, they wanted answers. "I'd never tell you people. Just kill me now.", and Garzania roughed him up some more with his longsword. Deez argued against this, Adol'in argued to do it, and Jack was watching this argument. In the midst of their debate, the knight was trying to run the best he could, mostly tied up. When the group noticed, trying to get him back, he made the decision to take his life. He was at low health, and jumped headfirst into the ground. Before he landed, he yelled, "My lord, I believe in your power! If I must die, I will. Goodbye, lord Necrova!" Him killing himself stuns the group. They realize that him being dead won't help them. They also ponder at the way he talked about his lord, and the name Necrova. Deez had dome some minor research in the time they were in this world, and knew no rulers by that name. Garzania was able to tell his name meant "New Death". Deez goes into further though, that so far all of the gods are the same in this world, and there wasn't a god related to death by the name Necrova. After this bump in the road, the party decides to continue. They run into some monsters in the road, ready to fight them. 3 hobgoblins fight them, and Jack takes up his light crossbow and whip at the same time, activating his rites in the battle. As he attacks from midrange, Deez uses his mace to take them head on. Garzania shoots with his bow to support Jack, keeping a good formation against the hobgoblins. Adol'in comes in to attack the weakened enemies with burning hands, but 2 still stand. They make an attack at Deez, as the other goes for Garzania. Deez gets a little injured, and Garzania dodged, with Deez healing himself. Garzania shoots the furthest, and so does Jack, after activating his second rite. Jack then finished the last one off with his whip, ending the last battle of the day. The group became level 6 at this point. The session then ended.
I've come back again to tell more of the story of the legends. In the spirit of staying indoors as well, I'll do two sessions this time.
As the party marches onward to their destination, they see a man armed with a rapier, strangely wearing a monocle. He looks to them all and says, "You defeated our best soldier inside of the kingdom. However, in this situation, I can beat any of you." He then threw gold up in the air as it vanished, looking at Adol'in. Garzania gets attacked by him, as the man's rapier packs a lot more force than it should have. Garzania took a heavy blow, and Jack made an attack at the man, dealing some damage. Adol'in attacks, using his weapon to transmute his strength, but he misses. Deez heals Garzania, as Garzania takes out his longsword to unleash his assault. The man took a lot of damage, and looked towards Deez, throwing gold into the air. He then turned back to Garzania to shoot flames out of his rapier. The party had an idea, with Adol'in attacking, Jack and Deez grabbing his weapon, and Garzania coming in for the finishing blow. The plan succeeded for the most part, but Garzania couldn't finish it. With no weapon left, the man took up a smug look, and punched Garzania. The man then fell dead when Garzania stuck him with his sword again, in anger. The party took the monocle from the man, and some gold he had left over. The group heads in further to finally reach the kingdom. They see crystals embedded in some walls, and a zorbo waiting in it's den. The party attacks it preemptively, and it retaliates. The zorbo absorbs some of the crystal in the walls, and attacks. Once it fights back, Deez and Garzania go over the walls to get inside the kingdom, but Deez has some regrets. Jack and Adol'in fight it, as Jack uses his rite to attacks, but doing little to the creature. Adol'in uses burning hands, but it falls somewhat flat. After the zorbo misses, the two try again, with Jack attacking with both his whip and hand crossbow, and Adol'in using his rapier. They manage to pierce it, and it falls dead. Deez then flies back over with Garzania, after talking him into returning to help the others. Seeing that they handled it, they all go inside the kingdom, but not before they grab a diamond the zorbo had. People stalk the party on their way in, as the 3 of them approach. "We fight for Necrova!", they cry out, rushing in to fight. Adol'in and Deez take on one, firing both chill touch and sacred flame at him. Jack attacks one, again with his whip and hand crossbow. Garzania takes the last out with his longbow. The party can continue on to at last reach the center of the kingdom. They see a proud standing man, with another monocle, as he speaks to them and says, "The people you fought before getting here weren't as faithful to our lord as to my extent. I will not shame my lord. Necrova guides my blade!" The party is in slight confusion over all that the hear about Necrova, but they can tell they need to be prepared for the coming fight. Garzania attempts to get his weapon, but fails. The man then throws gold in the air and looks towards Jack. He then aims his sword at Deez, as a great fear comes over him. The party now knows that the monocle takes gold in exchange for copying the abilities of magic items, and this was bad for Deez. Deez cowers, with the fear reminding him of a trauma, when his tribe was slaughtered by a red dragon, leaving him as a survivor. The battle continues with everyone else for now. Adol'in casts burning hands, wearing down the devout follower. Jack decides to keep his distance and shoots both his hand crossbows at the man. The man then attacks Garzania. After getting over the fear that came over him, Deez returns to the battle a few rounds later, healing Garzania. Garzania the brunt of the attacks, with the rest going to Adol'in who was the second closest. Through the battle, both sides get tired, until Jack lands the finishing hit, and Garzania goes to look at the man. Lying on the ground, he mutters to him, "You'll never stop Necrova with how weak you are, I'm confident. You must go and fight other minions like you did me, to get stronger. I've lost my faith in him, with this defeat as proof of him forsaking me." His monocle then shatters as he dies. Adol'in absorbs his spirit, and his weapon glows bright. "You see two paths, the path of refinement, and the path of the berserker. Which do you go down?", Adol'in hears in his head. He decides to go down the path of the berserker, as his sword changes, to become a size nearly equal to himself, but it give him the strength to wield it as a great sword, but he lost his ability to use sword skills. The ground started to shake, and the party used what was left of their energy to run before the land took to the sky. One they managed to get off, they see the kingdom fly away like the last. Beaten and battered, the party finds a village to rest in. The session then ended. The party was then level 7.
After being able to relax in the village, the party is left with no other option but to continue down the path they were on. They went to head to the next kingdom. On the road, they can hear the galloping of horses. Deez sees red dust being poured, and can tell its a ritual object called infernal chalk. They were planning to suffocate the party in a wall of flames, so Garzania's weapon glowed, and gave him the speed to react. He shot at the knights, but only got one, as the other was still trying to complete the circle. The group ran to try and get out, but the knight finished the circle, and the fire started. Adol'in's weapon glowed, giving him the strength to try and push through. With it, he pulled the party out. As soon as the party got out, Garzania took aim to shoot down the last knight. The battle only just started though. Jack and Deez get shot from different directions, and Garzania can see a third. Deez flies over to attack one, and nearly gets shot out of the air. Jack goes to fight back against one with his crossbows. Adol'in goes to fight the last with the newly named Brute Strength. Deez bashes the first with his mace, putting them out of commission. Jack fills the second full of bolts. Adol'in skewered the last archer. The group takes a long walk after that. It seems very calm, and they see a small shack on the side of the trail. Out of curiosity, they go inside. An old man greets each of them. They all see just 3 items, an eye patch, a shield, and strange headgear. Deez's weapon draws him to the eye patch, Adol'in's to the shield, and Garzania's to the headgear. The old man then says, "For only 100 gold you can have one of my wares. I however don't know what they may do. The group decides to buy the eye patch for Deez, as it seems strange and powerful. The old man accepts, and laughs loudly, as the shack fades away, leaving a well with a sign. The sign says, "I will grant another gift, but at the cost of a magic item." The party then gets rid of the magical sword handle, as 3 souls fly out of the well. Garzania absorbs 2, unlocking Mystery Shot 1 and 2. Deez takes one, having very few. Deez then puts on the eye patch, but veins grow from it and dig into him. He can't take it off, but he feels himself get stronger in every way. The group still questions if the eye patch will do anything else. The session then ended, and the group became level 8.
So, our starting cast consist of:
My DMPC (Yes, I use them).

Here, have some homebrew classes! Subclasses to? Why not races. Feats, feats as well. I have a lot of magic items. Lastly I got monsters, fun, fun times.
Sounds cool!
All stars fade. Some stars forever fall.

Homebrew (Mostly Outdated): Magic Items, Monsters, Spells, Subclasses
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If there was no light, people wouldn't fear the dark.
Here we are with the next part now.

Now onto the next part.

We'll save all of the kingdoms, and find out what's causing this."
They all walk towards to closest kingdom they can see, which in in a mountainous region past the forest.

Here, have some homebrew classes! Subclasses to? Why not races. Feats, feats as well. I have a lot of magic items. Lastly I got monsters, fun, fun times.
They think that it worked
They then kill the werebear, already having it in their grasp, as they hear the sound of something land behind them.

Goodbye, lord Necrova!"
Him killing himself stuns the group.

Necrova guides my blade!"
The party is in slight confusion over all that the hear about Necrova, but they can tell they need to be prepared for the coming fight.
