I have been writing my campaign from scratch using the influence of the litany of fantasy realms where my favorite stories are set. So far, I have infused the day-to-day with improvised material, and referred to my planned "bones" when I want to progress the arcs in the story line. Has anyone else done something similar? I think it would be cool to collaborate on writing a module for publication if there are any other professional writers reading this who agree, let's chat! My interest is getting people interested in the game, and showing them how easy it can be to play.
For my own DMing: Using DND Beyond has been a good way to track the home brew content I am creating, but as far as story line goes, I am using MindMup and Google Drive to keep things organized, and Roll20 for the map and A/V interface.
