I would like to start DMing on a professional level but am not sure what a 'Fair' price per seat would be. It takes a LOT of time and effort to set up a game on this level and requires that I make all my own art and assets which also takes a HUGE time investment and skill set. There are also several subscription-based services that are used, in the setup. The seat cost would help offset the cost of those services and for the investment of all the books and software. Being a player at the table would get access to all D&D Beyond content through campaign content sharing. I have seen pay sessions anywhere from 5$ a seat to 25$ a seat. I am trying to gauge where my worth lies as a "Professional Dungeon Master"
Services Used / Player benefits:
Syrinscape Pro
D&D Beyond Master Tier
Weekly game hosted using Foundry w/ Discord for Voice
Access to Shared Library on D&D: Beyond
All sessions are recorded, so never miss a night even if you can't make it
Based on my experience with online DND games which has been through Fantasy Grounds, a little Roll20.net, and then your Tyranny of Dragons campaign in Foundry, Foundry is the best tabletop simulator for playing DND online! But, I'm not sure I would have come to that conclusion if it weren't for you, Cor, because you have a lot of skill and knowledge regarding modding and you implemented so many awesome mods in Foundry to make our sessions really smooth and fun. Combat in this Tyranny of Dragons campaign has the perfect balance of tabletop roleplaying gameplay and automation/quality of life. I honestly wish we could play more often.
The bottom line is, the common experience for me (and I'm sure many others) has been that finding a decent campaign to join is rare. Perhaps you find a DM that has a lot of DM experience but not so much experience regarding the tabletop simulator, but rarely do you find one that excels in both aspects. I would recommend your campaign to everyone I know and I would sign up as well!
As a DM I would say you are going to do a great job. I would say easy you could get $20 a seat with a four-hour game. Otherwise, outside of that, it won't be worth it to you for running it.
Now for the nitpicks. As for what I watched it took 30 minutes and the progress felt slow. It seems there are some learning curves with the VTT. Plus everyone just goofing off. I found it distracting with all the movement in your Camera space. I don't know the setup of everything and maybe in this instance if I had seen episode one these things might have been explained. You also disappeared at one point and someone else walked into your camera space. In a regular game if the players can't see you then this will not be an issue.
I just feel if I'm paying for a session it should have more movement/progression. You need to help keep the players more focused. Not saying that bantering is bad. Hell, it's almost required in my group. Saying that maybe being in a group when playing I might not mind as much. This is just all outside observance.
For what it's worth you will be fine. Be prepared, Then be more prepared. Lastly, be prepared to through out whatever it is you prepared. Players will do that to you almost every time.
If everyone is new to the VTT you are using that might eat up time. So just watch out for that too.
