I am still considering where I want to go with Ivan Gagarin, and I have been thinking that multiclass makes sense for this character because of his backstory and stuff.
This is just a concept of where I was thinking the character might go on his journey to level 10. He starts off as a Fighter with the Gladiator background, but as he learns more about himself and his people and where he comes from, he eventually multiclasses into Barbarian.
Resulting in a level 10 character with a Fighter 6 / Barbarian 4, split.
Does this look okay. I am willing to sacrifice higher level powers for a fun and strong character at lower levels, but have I went to far, or is he mechanically okay?
Also, as a side question: could I play this character in Adventurers League?
Dex is pretty low which will impact your AC and initiative, I'd probably lower your Cha and Wis to bump it up. You're AL legal. You won't get your rage bonuses due to wearing plate armor. Your skill choices align with your attribute placement so it sounds like a character concept you're working on. Totally fine of course I'm just looking at it more from an optimization viewpoint. If you're going champion that generally is for big crits which I'd recommend going a 2 hander instead of sword and board. Fighting style same thing, if you're going to stick with armor you're good, but if you are looking for more damage go GWF.
My recommendations:
Lower Cha & Wis to boost Dex
Change fighting style to GWF
Remove armor and shield go with a 2 hander
Re-align skills to match changed attributes
Just my opinion of course, character is fine as is just realize by wearing plate you're missing out on your rage bonuses. You also should have 3 ASIs at this point but looks like you've only used one.
Hi guys,

A caffeinated nerd who has played TTRPGs or a number of years and is very much a fantasy adventure geek.
