Why was the window on the feedback survey for the UA horror classes so short? I just found out there was a survey today and now it's already closed. Very sad about the shadow sorcerer changes and also sad that the short feedback window implies that the designers aren't really interested in feedback. Sad all around.
Sorry you missed the window for feedback. I was also a little disappointed by the changes to Shadow Sorcerer, specifically to the Hound of Ill Omen: imposing Disadvantage on the target was the whole point, conjuring a magic shadow dog was just window dressing.
But, the UA released all the way back on May 6th, and the feedback period just closed, I think, on Monday of this week. The feedback window wasn't shorter than usual, I think you just saw the update too late.
They've been doing these UAs rapid-fire lately. I similarly missed out on commenting on the one before last.
Though moreso than the short timeframe, I'm annoyed that they only allow for text responses when rating something yellow. At least have a set of options for "I love the theme but the mechanics are bad" and "the theming is dumb but I love how this power works".

Agreed on that. I get the idea if something is green, it means "I like this as-is" so they don't need feedback. But I would think, if someone marked an option as red, they would want to know why. I marked a lot of things as yellow that I really didn't like, but wanted to be able to give specific feedback.
Yeah, I've designed an entire character around the disadvantage mechanic of the hound including spell choices and metamagic options. We even just did an entire campaign arc around me getting my hound. It seems to me that if you can't easily port your character from one version of the class to the new one, then it's a bad change. I realize that I can keep playing the old version, but it's disappointing that they updated my class and I want nothing to do with the new version as it is much less distinct than it was before.

their interpretation is
green means good as is
yellow means work on this/i have feedback
red means, stop this now/ dont do this type of thing.
so anything where giving specific feedback matters would be yellow. It has the widest specrtrum of opinions
So lets say they wanted feedback on their spagetti and meatballs recipe
green yes this is worthy of being on the menu
yellow = it needs work: heres what i think
red= i dont like spagetti and meatballs dont put it on the menu.
if you dont want it on the menu, not much need for feeback.
when you think of it like rating system it seems odd, but if you think of it as yes no maybe it makes a lot more sense

What did you not like about the Shadow Sorcerer?
