Ranger is playable. Volley with Half Orc and Assassin is elite if you buff stealth and somehow get vision at range. Also, beastmaster-druid. Have the same beast friend as your wild shape and somehow gameplay that the hostiles cannot tell the difference?
About UA, though: Half Orc Astral Monk is GORO from Mortal Combat! I like.
Does Wild Magic Barbarian break the UA Game? The theory is post #3:

Yeah - ranger is certainly ‘playable’ but it needs improvement. I should not have to play a certain race (e.g. half-orc, which by the way I have zero interest in playing) and multi-class to make it rock.
Huh... who woulda thought they'd make a barbarian that works perfectly for some people from Vethea, a weird land in my games that several savage races ended up pushed into, that reeks of crazy magics. Already increases the number of wild mages born there, as well as increasing the rate of wild magic going of while there, and other fun magic effects, even non wild mages becoming a much lessened version of such while there. Is a fun place to visit, heh, heh, heh.

IMO "rocking" the game is optimizing all variables to create a min-max build. I understand that some find this distasteful, but we digress. I would gladly play a half-orc astral monk.
I'm really digging the new Barbarian archetype Path of the Wild Soul except for the 6th level ability Magic Reserves. All the other abilities have a wild magic like affect except Magic Reserves.
Here is my take on revamping Magic Reserves (6th):
At 6th level, you have advantage on all saving throws against magic while raging in addition to the below ability. While raging if you are hit with a spell that targets you (not an area affect), use your reaction instead of making a save. The spell is temporarily absorbed into your Wild Soul with no negative affects. Your body physically sparks with static electricity while a spell is absorbed. Before your rage ends, you must expend the stored spell as part of your next attack that hits a creature (spell range becomes touch; single creature affected only). The creature will take weapon damage and any damage/effect of the stored spell. DC's for the stored spell are based on the Barbarian's strength modifier. Max spell level that can be stored is based on the Barbarian level / 2 rounded down. Only 1 spell can be stored at any given time. If the spell is not expended by the time your rage ends, the Barbarian suffers the affects of the spell as if savings throw was missed, taking any damage and or affects as a result. Until the stored spell is expelled this ability cannot be used again. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Probably could use some more tweaking by the masses. Tried to incorporate reaction, raging, and magic. Enjoy.
I'm surprised there wasn't a discussion thread for this already. Ah well, may as well.

There was (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/general-discussion/44997-new-ua-wild-magic-barb-astral-monk). It looks like it got deleted for some reason. Also, this should be in the UA forum.
Finally, a barbarian subclass that is right for me. The astral self is so anime, like a stand or nen ability.
Looks like those hoping for alternate class features to address the issues with the ranger class get to keep on waiting! What a surprise.

I ran a search. I didn't even now that section was there. Sometimes, I am blind.

I’m definitely not a min-maxer, sorry. I think we just have very different approaches to the game, which is fine.

I keep reading stuff like this. What the hell are they?

I've never seen the anime, but apparently it is very similar to this concept.
