I am planning to play in an evil character one shot where there is a strong chance that the players will turn on each other before the end. I want to take Suggestion as a spell so that I can make one of the characters fight for me. The spell states "If you or any of your companions damage the target, the spell ends." It does not state that damage from any other source will end the spell. If we have all turned on each other, would the other players no longer be counted as companions?

There's no general RAW on this, so ask your DM. However, Suggestion has some poorly-worded rules in it regarding what commands are valid for it and what aren't, so check with your DM what constitutes "reasonable" as opposed to "obviously harmful" - the spell itself is fundamentally inconsistent, so it's DM fiat where the borders are for what you can validly suggest.
