Containers now can hold coins!
This is currently only available to Subscribers for testing purposes. We hope to release it to everyone soon.
If you navigate to your coins in the upper right of your inventory and click open the side bar you will now see a settings cog right of the Manage Coin title. If you click into the settings cog there is now a selection to 'PUT COINS IN CONTAINERS' (Track individual coin totals for different containers in your inventory.) Turning this on will now 'afford' you the ability to place coinage into any inventory item that is a container.
- Manage Inventory > Coin Count
- Manage Coin (sidebar) > Settings Cog > Put Coins in Containers > Select ON
This is manual management only, so if you want to spread your wealth around, you will have to divvy up you coin to your chosen containers and then subtract it from where you got it.
Ooooooh Nice!
Excellent! Thanks! I hope a shared container will be next!
Coins are showing zero weight in a bag of holding? One of my players has "Ignore Coin Weight" turned off. He has 809 coins in a bag of holding. It is showing the bag of holding has no weight in it.

Centritan,
We currently have not yet wired up the weight of currency within your containers (just the Equipment container should count as coin weight). Appreciate the feedback and we'll see if we can get that completed at some point in the near future.
Awesome 😄
Note: This seems to be only for use with the browser. Changes for the iOS mobile app have not been made as of this post, but will be worth the wait.
Great Start! Very excited to what other treats you have for all of us.

Currently getting his error:
Unable to make transaction: Add Coin
I love this feature—thank you!
Would adding items such as the ones found in the “art objects” table, trade goods (like flour and wheat, or bars of gold), and food items (bread, ale, etc) from the PHB and DMG be feasible? I would love to use these types of items as currency as well. I know one can make custom items, but it seems like some of these items should be allowed to make the inventory list. Thanks!
I got the same error when adding to a bag of holding. All my other containers are working for the character.
I also reported to the ddb-feedback channel on discord.
Is there a way to use this with homebrew? Last time I checked, there was no ‘Container’ magic item type.
I noticed that when coin weight is enabled, it will track coin weight in its default position, but will not track weight when coins are moved into say, a pouch.
If 50 coins = 1lb, and a pouch can hold 6lbs, then moving 300 coins to the pouch should add 6lbs of weight. Currently, it does not, but adding the coin to your pouch and not manually subtracting it from your default coin spot, will result in adding double the coin.
Basically, adding coin to a pouch does not add weight, and if you use coin encumbrance, then the feature is isn't fully operational in its current iteration.
bag of holding have a weight equal to 15 pounds reguardless of whats in it, so of course the coinage will be set to 0 weight since the bag of holding has a permanent weight of 15 pounds. so i believe thats normal.
Getting various errors when trying to add coin to an alms box. One of them was mentioned by another person, the other is, I imagine, DDBs version of a 404 error, with this error code: 14256f1ee594491892dd6c3f6667f310
use container as a shopping list and rename it in the customize option.
The bag of holding also shows how much of the 500 pound limit is being used. Coins aren't tallied in that limit.
For those experiencing the transaction errors: we are working on this issue and hope to have a fix out in the near future.
I see that value can be added to the items as well but I only see the value in gold. Can we add it in other value as well, such as silver or copper? Am I missing something or is this as far as it goes?
