Choose one object weighing 1 to 5 pounds within range that isn’t being worn or carried. The object flies in a straight line up to 90 feet in a direction you choose before falling to the ground, stopping early if it impacts against a solid surface. If the object would strike a creature, that creature must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the object strikes the target and stops moving. When the object strikes something, the object and what it strikes each take 3d8 bludgeoning damage.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the maximum weight of objects that you can target with this spell increases by 5 pounds, and the damage increases by 1d8, for each slot level above 1st.
use it on their heart because it say nothing about the damage delt to the object thrown and with some calculation it is going 40 MPH or 64 KMH
yous it on a monsters hart
I am the great panguino
My character carries 5 1lbs balls that he uses as weapons. This spell is awesome.
Uhh... it says that the spell is available for sorcerers and wizards twice
Pretty cool
I have a bit of confusion with the RAW. I understand that the 60ft is the area from which to choose an object not worn or carried. And I also understand that the object flies in a straight line of 90ft.
My question is it's unclear if that straight line is from where the object is or the casters location. If it's the casters location then there's some weird telekinesis or teleportation that is happening just before the object is launched. If it's the objects location then you could do a lot of unique things like potentially add the 60ft to the 90ft for total spell range. You could fire around corners without ever exposing yourself, you could even potentially have an object come directly back at you, or right past you.
I catapulted a moldy corn dog at a Stone Giant and it landed in the Stone Giant's ear!
Catapult can hit any object not being worn or carried. Your brain is you, it is wearing you so you are not wearing or carrying it. Your brain is usually 1-5 lbs.
(toss it into back of skull, if it doesn't kill they are very badly hurt)
