A flame springs from an object that you touch. The effect casts Bright Light in a 20-foot radius and Dim Light for an additional 20 feet. It looks like a regular flame, but it creates no heat and consumes no fuel. The flame can be covered or hidden but not smothered or quenched.

Posted Feb 26, 2025So for 5000 times the cost of a torch and a 2nd level spell slot, you get the effect of a torch without making heat that can't be gotten rid of until dispelled. This might have use in a base and probably for NPCs, but I don't see many PCs getting use out of this.
