You make an area within range magically secure. The area is a Cube that can be as small as 5 feet to as large as 100 feet on each side. The spell lasts for the duration.
When you cast the spell, you decide what sort of security the spell provides, choosing any of the following properties:
- Sound can’t pass through the barrier at the edge of the warded area.
- The barrier of the warded area appears dark and foggy, preventing vision (including Darkvision) through it.
- Sensors created by Divination spells can’t appear inside the protected area or pass through the barrier at its perimeter.
- Creatures in the area can’t be targeted by Divination spells.
- Nothing can teleport into or out of the warded area.
- Planar travel is blocked within the warded area.
Casting this spell on the same spot every day for 365 days makes the spell last until dispelled.
Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot. You can increase the size of the Cube by 100 feet for each spell slot level above 4.

This should be a ritual spell.
"Casting this spell on the same spot every day for 365 days makes the spell last until dispelled."
Imagine doing this and then one day someone shows up and casts "dispel magic" on it with a single action.
Kind of a lame change in the 2024 version. I'm sure not many do that aspect since its a long run, but still....
I'm hoping they mean until the caster chooses to end it, but the wording doesn't make it seem like that.
Let me get this straight, I can ward myself in all of these amazing ways but a fourth level dispel magic just nullifies it in a single action.
10 minute casting time ...
So even in the 2014 rule book dispel magic would still dispel a permanent field. Dispel magic literally can dispel just about any player magic expect an anti-magic field or items. What that means though is that if you decide to dispel it even after it becomes permanent you can.
Its a weird use case, and one that isnt needed due to the fact that you can dispel any magical effect you control now at will, but it fundamentally doesnt change how dispel magic works with the spell.
Which is the area 120'cube or 100' cube as the first lines say contradicting the banner at the top?
The area of effect is a cube between 5 and 100 feet on a side. The range — i.e., how far away from yourself you can place the cube — is 120 feet.
