Stevedore Image

For some time you have worked long, hard days at the quayside, unloading and loading cargoes.

You have heard stories from sailors - and pirates - at the quayside inns, of adventure and risk. You have seen cargoes that stir the imagination - gemstones and precious metals; finely crafted metalwork and carpentry; exotic bestial skins; aromatic spices; barrels of ales and wines from distant shores; all destined for the grandiose halls and palaces of the realm - cargoes that you have enjoyed yourself - food and drink from across the realm - and cargoes that you will never forget, nor ever talk about...

But you tire, now, of this life.

You plan on taking your skills and tools out into the wider world, to find your fortune...

Skill Proficiencies: Acrobatics,Athletics
Tool Proficiencies: Navigator’s tools, vehicles (water)
Equipment: A sharp knife (dagger), a set of common clothes, a crowbar, 50' of rope (player's choice), and a pouch containing 5 GP.

Feature: Bad Reputation

No matter where you go, people are afraid of you due to your reputation. When you are in a civilized settlement, you can get away with minor criminal offenses, such as refusing to pay for food at a tavern or breaking down doors at a local shop, since most people will not report your activity to the authorities.

Suggested Characteristics

Stevedores are a hardy, no nonsense group of people, who are quick to jump in and protect others - particularly other stevedores - and so the profession has garnered a somewhat unsavory reputation in many a port town.
