You devoted yourself to service in a temple, either nestled in a town or secluded in a sacred grove. There you performed rites in honor of a god or pantheon. You served under a priest and studied religion. Thanks to your priest’s instruction and your own devotion, you also learned how to channel a modicum of divine power in service to your place of worship and the people who prayed there.

Not great stats, but I like that any character with a priestly background can use some divine magic now.
What happened to the flavor for each background? Has that been stripped out as well? How does removing content make the game better?
I don’t understand, I heard backgrounds are suposed to give you feats and ability point now.
I do not see the relevant abilities mentioned alongside each 2024 background.
Yup, the backgrounds in here seem to be missing the appropriate feats - in Acolyte's case: Magic Initiate (Cleric) - as well as the ability score increases. The feat is mentioned in the table of Backgrounds, but not in this description, and the ability score increases are missing from both. This may be related to the fact that we can't choose ability score increases when making a homebrew background, either...
.. That's it? Where's the- y'know- content?
Ability Scores: Int, Wis, Cha
Feat: Magic Initiate (Cleric)

Where are the Ability Scores, where are the Feats? Why does this page only have the last 3 of the 5 things a background should have?
