As a child you have been selected, by chance, fate or bad luck, to become a witcher. You have undertaken the Trial of the Grasses, suffering agonies unthinkable, but against all odds, surviving. Raised by trained and learned Witchers, you have been taught how to hunt and kill monsters, harness simple runic spells, craft bombs, concoctions and weapon oils, all to become a shield to the people of civilisation, the bane of monsters everywhere.
- Skill Proficiencies: Choose two from among Deception, Intimidation, Persuasion, and Stealth
- Tool Proficiencies: Choose two from among one type of gaming set, one musical instrument, and thieves’ tools
- Equipment: A set of clothes appropriate to your duties and a pouch containing 20 gp
As a monster hunter for hire, you frequently interact with all manner of people in the world, from the poorest to the richest. You know where to find work in cities and villages, and can typically get a decent price for your services.
Furthermore, as your journeys take you all over the continent, you have no true home other than your Witcher school. You know the location of a Witcher School, a hidden and defensible location from the rest of the world (perhaps in ruins), but each time you visit, especially when gone for long periods of time, you must remove any monsters or other dangers drawn to the School by the latent magics of Witcher training.
