Way Of Wyrding Image

Short Description: Wyrding is the most rarest and perilous form of magic, but is often considered the most powerful. Using words from the Language of Truth (see mechanics), a caster can change the world to how they see fit. Wyrding has only three limits; the Casters' power, known words, and their ingenuity.

Along with casting, a wyrder can send out their mind to see the thoughts of those around them. This ability is not limited to those who can use this form of magic, it is just more common among users of wyrd magic.
Long description: Language of truth: This is an enchanted language, created thousands of years ago from a culture long forgotten. Words in this language contain the true definition of the item they are set to. (Example: Brinsngr means fire in the language of truth. Brisingr is not a name for fire, it is the name for fire, and contains all possible meanings of the word.) While speaking the language of truth, those who natively speak it have become masters of saying one truth, but often meaning another. It is impossible to lie and any oaths sworn in the language are impossible to break. Those who know the language often horde the words they know, and treasure new words more than gold. At level two, the user knows ten words in the language of truth, they can be combined in any way wanted, but the intent of the spell must be clearly defined with the DM, they learn one new word per level.

All people in this world have a true name in the Language of Truth. Learning your own means you have a complete understanding of yourself. Those who know their name only share it with those they trust most as knowing it grants you immense power over another. The true name is the only way one can break an Oath in the language of Truth, this can only be done if the person's character changes in an extreme way, therefore making them a different person from when they initially swore the Oath.

Wyrding: This form of magic requires extreme concentration, as the outcome of a spell is dictated by the user's intent. A spell cast requires the same amount of energy to do the task by hand. The more difficult the spell, the more risk of the caster becoming exhausted (which can be cured by either rest or consuming a high-calorie food, as well as other, unknown, sources). Other energy factors are, distance to target, complex intent with limited words, and distractions around the caster. The exact amount of energy required by a spell will be dictated by the DM.

Mind cast: This is an ability available to all, not just casters, but it is often met with different levels of success, though very few are trained in it. When casting out your mind, you can view the thoughts of those around you, but if you contact the mind of someone also trained in mind casting, they will sense it, and know, where, and possibly who you are. at level 2, the caster can open their mind 50ft in every direction, this increases to 15ft per level.
