Blessing Of Death's Lullaby Image
Prerequisite: Requires lvl 4 Ranger
 

You have been blessed by Death’s Lullaby. The painful hunger you knew will be gone forevermore - and you will have the strength to never starve again.

Death’s Lullaby was a beast of feather and terror, and ultimately most resembling of a whippoorwill bird, if it were to resemble anything natural. The whippoorwill birds, these spies from the shadows, will follow you; helping and haunting you, staying with you. They will help you survive, and as you hunt, you will gain an ungodly proficiency in it.

 

You gain new features at 3rd, 6th, and 11th level. Choose the option corresponding to your level.

 

Beginning at 3rd level, you are made more aware of nature. Your powers are dormant, but awakening.

 

Hunter’s Talent

 

You may choose to use your Wisdom modifier in place of your Intelligence modifier when making Nature checks.

You cannot roll lower than an 8 or lower on the die when making a Survival check.

You gain advantage on initiative rolls.

True Strike

 

You gain three True Strike charges. When you hit a creature with an attack roll, you can expend one True Strike charge to turn the attack into a critical hit. You regain True Strike charges at the end of a short rest.

You may also expend one True Strike charge as an action, and choose an enemy you can see within 60ft. of you. You learn the target’s resistances, weaknesses, and whether or not it’s current hit points are higher or lower than your current hit points.

Beginning at 6th level, your hunting prowess has awarded you another boon.

 

Advanced True Strike

 

You gain six True Strike charges. When you hit a creature with an attack roll, you can expend one True Strike charge to turn the attack into a critical hit. You regain True Strike charges at the end of a short rest.

You may also expend one True Strike charge as an action, and choose an enemy you can see within 60ft. of you. You learn the target’s resistances, weaknesses, and whether or not it’s current hit points are higher or lower than your current hit points.

You may also expend a True Strike charges as an action to activate Take Aim. While Take Aim is active, you apply an aura effect to allies within 30 ft. of you. All allies affected by Take Aim gain a +2 bonus to attack rolls, and score a critical hit on attack rolls if they get a 19 or 20 on the die.

Hunting Flock

 

The whippoorwills grow fiercer, knowing to swarm your enemy in a more brutal fashion. When you hit an attack against the target of your Hunter’s Mark or Favored Foe, you deal an additional D6 of piercing damage to the target. This activates under both attacks in the attack action, but does not stack against a target marked by both Hunter’s Mark and Favored Foe.

In addition, you learn the spell Clairvoyance, and can add the spell to your spell list if you can cast spells according to its level. Without the use a spell slot, you can cast Clairvoyance a number of times per day equal to your proficiency bonus. When you cast Clairvoyance using this feature, the floating orb takes the form of a camouflaged whippoorwill, whose respective sense you chose for Clairvoyance you share.

Beginning at 11th level, your hunting prowess has become a hunting mastery, awarding you further power and an exceptional lethality. 

 

Hunter’s Expertise

 

You may choose to use your Wisdom modifier in place of your Intelligence modifier when making Nature checks. In addition, you gain proficiency in the Nature and Survival skills if you don’t already have it. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses either of those proficiencies.

You cannot roll lower than an 8 on the die when making a Survival check.

You gain advantage on initiative rolls, and a bonus to initiative rolls equal to your Wisdom modifier.

Mastered True Strike

 

You gain 11 True Strike charges. When you hit a creature with an attack roll, you can expend one True Strike charge to turn the attack into a critical hit. You regain True Strike charges at the end of a short rest.

You may also expend one True Strike charge as an action, and choose an enemy you can see within 60ft. of you. You learn the target’s resistances, weaknesses, and whether or not it’s current hit points are higher or lower than your current hit points.

You may also expend a True Strike charge as an action to activate Take Aim. While Take Aim is active, you apply an aura effect to allies within 30 ft. of you. All allies affected by Take Aim gain a +2 bonus to attack rolls, and score a critical hit on attack rolls if they get a 19 or 20 on the die.

You gain access to a new use of True Strike, called Death’s Calling. As an action, expend a number of True Strike dice equal to the number of targets within your line of sight you wish to select. You may make an attack roll against each target selected, all of which turn into critical hits on a hit.

Nightmarish Hunting Flock

 

The whippoorwills grow terrifying, resembling a swarm of living arrows rather than birds. When you hit an attack against the target of your Hunter’s Mark or Favored Foe, you deal two additional D6s of piercing damage to the target. This activates under both attacks in the attack action, but does not stack against a target marked by both Hunter’s Mark and Favored Foe.

In addition, you learn the spell Clairvoyance, and can add the spell to your spell list if you can cast spells according to its level. Without the use a spell slot, you can cast Clairvoyance a number of times per day equal to your proficiency bonus. When you cast Clairvoyance using this feature, you can choose both seeing and hearing. In addition, the floating orb takes the form of a camouflaged whippoorwill, whose senses (both seeing & hearing) you share.

Beast Awareness

 

Beginning at 11th level, you can use your action and expend one ranger spell slot to focus your awareness on the region around you. For 1 minute per level of the spell slot you expend, you can sense whether any number of creatures you have seen within the past 48 hours are present within 5 miles of you (or within up to 10 miles if you are in your favored terrain). You are able to tell their location, which direction they are moving, if they have stopped, and their creature type (Abberation, Beast, Humanoid, Celestial, etc.) This feature doesn’t reveal the creatures’ appearance, weapons, or size.
