If you have chosen Wardwood Weaving as one of your proficiencies given by a background, class or feat, you automatically gain the following effect.

Proficiency in Wardwood Weaving reduces the 20 gp weekly cost to maintain wardwood from growing beyond use, to 10 gp in materials.

If chosen as a feat, you gain the following effects.

First, increase one of your ability scores by 1.

Through your connection to the Wardwood tree, you've gained deeper insight to the workings of wardwood weaving. You now can bond with one piece of equipment, maintained by yourself. Bonding requires a short rest to do so. This can be done in the short rest taken to maintain your equipment. The bonded equipment gains one of the following effects depending on the piece of equipment. If the effect forces a saving throw, your DC is 8+Proficiency+Your Spellcasting Modifier, or the modifier from the score increased by the feat (whichever is higher). If you don't have a spellcasting modifier, use the modifier from the score increased by this feat.

1. Armor - Once per short rest, as a reaction, you can command the wardwood to grow in response to a melee attack aimed at your character, hit or miss. Force your attacker to make a Strength saving throw to resist the roots and branches that grow off of your Wardwood Equipment attempting to entangle your attacker. The vines last a number of rounds equal to your proficiency bonus. They have an AC of 12, and HP of 12. They are vulnerable to slashing and fire damage. The entangled target can attack the vines, or break out, making another Strength save, as an action.

2. Melee Weapon - Once per short rest, as a bonus action influence your weapon to grow thorns and sharp brambles. For 1 minute, your weapon deals an additional 1d4 piercing damage per hit.

3. Ranged Weapon - Once per long rest, you can grow and fletch Wardwood arrows equal to 1d6 + Your Proficiency Bonus. These arrows can do two effects. First you can expend 1 arrow to command the arrow to burst into thorns on impact, dealing an additional die of the weapons damage. Alternatively, you can command the arrow to burst into vines, possibly entangling the target. On hit or miss, the target must make a Dexterity saving throw to avoid the vines. These vines last until the beginning of your next turn.
