This is a mostly combat and build testing thread, but you’re free to role-play your characters while in or in-between fights. Challenges should either be issued OOC or IC. There is no obligation for RP! If you’ve come just to fight, that’s perfectly alright too. Make sure to choose your arena before starting!

GENERAL RULES
This thread operates ONLY in 2014 rules!
Combat can take place off the thread in a private PBP 1v1, but make sure to post the winner here so I can keep track.
You can fight multiple opponents at once (ex: 2v2, 3v2, etc)
For a rules query, contact a mod (cynophobia_, Redpelt, Halfastbracegirdle, or ChristheSoulcasterMage)
No OOC arguments
You can choose to forfeit a fight at any time. A forfeit counts as a loss. A scoreboard will be kept.
Keep OOC talk to a minimum.
A fight automatically ends at a draw after 20 turns if both participants are at more than 0 hp.
No mature content. Keep it PG-13.
ARENA TYPES
Standard
A standard flat arena in a 150 foot radius arena, with a height limit of 300. Starting distance 30 ft.
Putrid Bog
Players start on a 15 ft radius island, on opposite ends. Anything past the island is water, which is 100 ft deep. While on the island, you are standing in mud which counts as difficult terrain.
Skyfall
Players start on a 30 ft radius island in the sky. Beyond the island is a 1000 ft drop into a void, which instantly kills any creature. All creatures fall at a rate of 500 ft per round.
Thundershock
At the end of every round, roll a 1d20. On a 1 or 20, a lightning bolt strikes. If any PCs are wearing or wielding metal items, it strikes them. The arena is heavily obscured due to on-pouring rain.
Any summons in this arena instantly die and wither on the start of their first turn.
Lancers
Upon starting, all PCs are given a mount as per the Find Steed spell.
Eternal Night
The arena is shrouded in nonmagical darkness.

COMBAT RULES
Battles take place in a 150 foot radius arena, with a height limit of 300. Starting distance 30 ft. This is default, unless the contestants agree on any other battleground layout and/or distance.
A PC that is plane shifted to another plane returns to the arena after 1 minute.
All contestants must post their sheets before starting.
If a challenger doesn't respond to a post within 1 week, it is considered a forfeit.
A set up round can be negotiated, but both parties must agree.
No death saves.
Divine intervention now functions as the following: Roll a 1d100. If you roll a number equal to or lower than your cleric level, can choose to replicate the effect of any cleric spell. You don’t need to roll a 1d100 if you are at level 20.
CHARACTER CREATION
Your stat array will be one of the following: 18 16 14 12 11 7/ 16 16 16 13 10 8/ 17 17 12 12 9 9/ 17 16 15 13 11 8
If you choose a lineage, you cannot choose a race.
Characters are allowed to be of any level. If there is a level disparity between players, the character of lower level receives a number of luck points equal to the difference.
No epic boons.
No mounts or familiars that are not specified in a class, item, spell, or subclass feature
You have 20 points to spend on magic items. Unused points are converted into 50 GP each. common (1 point) uncommon (2 points) rare (3 points) very rare (5 points) legendary (7 points)
All dnd sourcebooks are allowed
No homebrew
When choosing a background, you MUST choose custom background.
You automatically have all the gold required for spells with a cost component.

You must now make a Wisdom saving throw at the start of each of your turns. On a fail, you can’t take your action that turn. I use my bonus action to bunny hop 30ft back to where I was.
