So my character is lvl 9 so I have gotten two proficiency buffs. It seems that the Hit Points and Skills and getting buffed properly but not the saving throws and its rend and repair actions.
Is there a way to fix this so I don't have to manually calculate or have to remember to add these buffs?
It's a glitch in the Matrix, and probably pretty low priority. Sadly.
EDIT: you could probably custom actions to your own sheet labeled "SD Rend" and "SD Repair" with the proper numbers, but that's about all I can think of. Modifying the Defender's own stats is currently impossible.
I noticed the same thing. When I hit five and got the first proficiency bump the HP went up by 5 which seems normalish. However, the only other thing that went up was skills which wasn't completely correct. Athletics went from 4 to 7 which isn't how it works but perception went from 4 to 5 like it should.
This really needs to be fixed. Even if there's workarounds in adding custom actions or whatever, that added inconvenience is just really frustrating. Issues like this should be fixed when reported, but as far as I can see no action is being taken about it, which is incredibly disappointing.
Especially since tasha's jsut came out and the Steel Defender is going to get used more, I imagine
It's actually better than just that. They're going to be adding suport for proper scaling stat blocks because that mechanic is pervasive to Tasha's. Given that the errata'd steel defender and homunculus make use of the same mechanic and are reprinted in Tasha's, I imagine they'll get to use an actual implementation of their features.
