I’m working on some art of characters I’m working on, and I was curious about how they should be attired. Obviously, if the classes are imbalanced (ex. Rogue 4/Monk 1), they’d still take after their Rogue appearance. But what if their classes are closer (ex. Warlock 3/Fighter 3), how would they be attired? Sticking with their original style, go after their new “career”, etc.?
(NOTE: I know there’s no set in stone rule regarding this; I’m just curious as to people’s opinions).
what you could try doing is think about the practical needs of both classes. Like how a warlock/fighter would want to have armor and weaponry to fight with, but would still want something to denote their patron, like an amulet or other holy symbol. Another thing to consider is the personality of the character, if that warlock/fighter is really practical then they might only wear armor with their patron's symbol on the chest plate. If they are flashy and stylish then they would want more colorful armor or trails with some leather padding underneath.
So if, say, a character was a 1st-level Fighter, then decided to switch to Wizard for 5-6 levels, would they still be wearing their armor (perhaps decorated with arcane markings of their “school”)?
ohhh, that's a good idea, almost like they're repurposing the armor but keeping its original function. What could be cool with a fighter/wizard is if their armor acted as a conduit too for their magic, maybe with some runes and crackling energy.
