Hi there! decided to model my own little mimic chest today! wanted a stylzed version of it for my own games, I'm currently 3D printing so pictures of that laterrr!
I just created a thread as the search failed when I looked for "3D Printing" I am looking for people like you! yay. This is very cool. Can you tell me a little bit about what software you use? I also have a noob question on scale. Since most maps I have seen use 1 inch scale and knowing that there are 25.4 mm in an inch, how do you scale that in software like Tinker cad? if you do not mind taking the time to answer a noob question. I look forward to seeing more of your creations. So cool!
I use maya for modelling mostly. more complicated stuff I'll do it on zbrush and then transfer to maya. Printing wise, I do resin with anycubic photon, and for that I use the software chitubox.
I'm used to metrics so I'm not too sure on the inches stuff. A typical medium sized character has a base of 3 cm by 3 cm as that fits all the maps and sets I have. They don't usually go over 5 cm high.
There is a great too that you can use in any SLA slicer software that is based on 28mm or 34mm. That way you don't have to worry so much about size when you create it. Its called "Miniature Scaler". Its free on thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3649454

Hope that helps!
