A button that you click to use and end a rage that also shows the rage's effects would be great for the online character sheet. I was so surprised when I realized DnD Beyond didn't have it.
Clone your weapon, subtract weight, add the damage modifier, and add the word Raging in front of the name. So a Barbarian 1 with 18 strength wielding a Great Axe would have the following:
Great fix thank you for that! Now....if they have polearm master how do you duplicate that to add the rage damage to the bonus action attack with the hilt of the weapon?
You basically have to turn the "regular" polearm mastery bonus attack into the raging version, then you can add a custom action and duplicate the regular version.
Polearm Barbarian is an example of what I did real quick, demonstrating the regular glaive ), the raging glaive, the raging polearm mastery bonus attack, and the regular polearm mastery bonus attack. This was done by selecting and wielding two glaives. Taking the second one, customizing it, add a flat 2 to damage and reduce weight to 0. Then customizing the existing polearm mastery bonus attack for a flat 2 to damage, then creating a custom weapon action, replicating polearm mastery bonus attack.
I made a custom magic item that I equip when raging. Gives me the resistances, damage bonus, saving throw Advantages...etc.
did you share that item in homebrew? I think you can homebrew items too right? This would be so much easier, to just equip a ring with rage benefits, since I am currently using UA beast form and I can't duplicate the claw, bite, or tail of the beasts
*I actually just found one in browse... should've looked before I spoke
Clone your weapon, subtract weight, add the damage modifier, and add the word Raging in front of the name. So a Barbarian 1 with 18 strength wielding a Great Axe would have the following:
Great Axe +6 1d12+4 Raging Great Axe +6 1d12+6
This ... this is a great idea ... I am doing this to me character tonight!
I made a homebrew ring that acts as an On/Off (equip/unequip) button for Raging. I think it gets most of the details implemented on the character sheet, but missing one. It's been a while, I forget.
I'm going to have to try the extension; I've been using the "clone weapon" workaround for now, but since we don't deal in encumbrance, it makes my choice of weapons/attacks very, very long lol.
Would be nice if Beyond simply included this as a Condition with the appropriate modifications for Level, etc.
I'm going to make an assumption here and say part of the reason why they don't do that is because the Rage bonuses can differ from Barbarian to Barbarian. Would require a lot of coding to create a button for each archetype for all the different things that you are given when raging.
They've already done similar work for other sub/classes, so why not for this class as well? If they they want to be *THE* digital toolset for D&D, then they need to include the base functions of a class for each class at a minimum. Barbarians use RAGE, so that is a base function for the class in my mind.
As it stands today, a person playing a Barbarian has their full digital toolset from the website or app, and a pad of paper and a pencil to track Rage usage and make note of the bonuses to use when raging, how many turns it has been since rage dropped, etc. etc. That isn't very 'digital' to me.
D&DB already track usage of special abilities for other classes and subclasses, along with bonuses and such when they are triggered, it shouldn't be too terribly difficult to add in Rage. As for the programming, well, being an intermediate programmer myself and having written auto-character generators for several other game systems I'll just say that all the extra coding work is par for the course. You don't write code to get paid, you write code because you like doing it. Getting paid for it is just a bonus. Besides other customers/users have already found workarounds using the existing programming structure within D&DB to enable Rage bonuses on a character. The Beyond folks should be able to work that in along with a use tracker/counter just like they do for other limited use abilities and feats.
Agreed, would love a "Rage" condition button. Level, barbarian sub-class, etc. are all from the character sheet so it should be easy to track as Barbarian grows in level.

Please add, devs! :)
Work around for you in the meantime:

Raging Great Axe +6 1d12+6

Perfect! Awesome thank you!

The most elegant solution would be maybe a "raging" condition in the conditions block, automatically granting all the benefits and negative effects.
I made a homebrew ring that acts as an On/Off (equip/unequip) button for Raging. I think it gets most of the details implemented on the character sheet, but missing one. It's been a while, I forget.
I published it so it can be viewed by all.

EDIT: Oh, I think the problem was it adds +2 to damage to everything... even non-STR based weapons. Haven't figured out how to prevent that.
The Beyond20 chrome extension has a toggle switch that will give you this functionality. It works quite well.
I'm going to have to try the extension; I've been using the "clone weapon" workaround for now, but since we don't deal in encumbrance, it makes my choice of weapons/attacks very, very long lol.

Jumping on this worthwhile bandwagon! This would be a great feature. The Barbarian in our party is new and forgets to add his Rage bonus.
This discussion is 5 years old.
Barbarians have been around since it was a fighter sub-class in 1982.
How is this not a feature yet?
Please make it so.
It's 2 years since the last post, but I still don't see this feature? let me know if I'm missing something.
Sorry read the wrong date..but yeah this would be nice to have.
