So tonight I just hit level 6, which grants me a path feature that is the following:
You can also call on the feral spirit to help you adapt to your surroundings. When you finish a short or long rest, choose one of the following benefits, which lasts until you finish a short or long rest:
Climbing
You gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed, and you can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Jumping
When you jump, you can make a Strength (Athletics) check and extend your jump by a number of feet equal to the check’s total. You can make this special check only once per turn.
Rule Tip: Jumping Costs Movement
When you jump, every foot you clear on the jump costs a foot of your movement on the current turn. When a class feature, a spell, or another effect extends your jump, the bonus feet also cost movement. For more about jumping, see chapter 8 in the Player’s Handbook.
Swimming
You gain a swimming speed equal to your walking speed, and you can breathe underwater.
I looked on my character sheet, took a long and a short rest and it doesn’t give me the option to change. Or did I just read it wrong, and I have to pick one of the three when I level up? The “when you finish a long or short rest, choose one” is kinda throwing me off I guess.
I also read it as "choose after you finish a rest, stuck with that till you finish another rest", but you are right, the DDB character sheet doesn't work like that.
As a workaround, you can always do "edit character" if you want to change it after a rest.
