I have 2 extra defender greatswords and 1 extra longbow showing up in attacks tab. Attunement tab is also bugged, with 2 extra defenders , 1 extra ring of protection, 1 extra ring of spell storing. Somehow I'm attuned to 6 of these magic items, the duplicate ring of protection attunement is stacking the boosts to saving throws and AC. If I try to remove/stow/unattune any of the duplicates I get the following Error Code ba949ec4207a4f3a959700cf0f19ed8f
I've marked the items actually in my inventory with an asterisk to distinguish them in the spots where they show up duplicated.
Update: no longer wielding or attuned to the items that are actually in my inventory, so the attack actions listed and the items on the attunement tab are the bugged duplicates.
I haven't even made it to issues with attuned items. I'm having issues with duplicate and undeletable mundane items. Waaaayyy too many Daggers, Handaxes, and sets of Leather armor on a level 3 character that I created a couple of days ago.
Can anyone respond as to what is going on, and if anyone is looking into fixing this?

I just took a look, and in the character sheet version none of the daggers, handaxes, or leather armors are showing up; but they are right there in the equipment page of the character builder.
Encumbrance matches in both places with 132 lbs, though, so there is some ghost equipment somewhere...

So the "ghost equipment" shows up on the Equipment page in Character Builder? Interesting... that may be a very useful data point for the staff, if that happens with the other people's characters too.

Trying to get more details: on the Equipment page for Sharlun, when you look at the Crowbar details, underneath it should say "In Backpack". When you look at details for one of the ghost Leather Armor, what do you see for "In "?
Edit: Actually, when I look at the sidebar for one of the numerous Daggers in your Actions, they don't show the line for "In " at all. I'm guessing the same applies when you look at them in the Character Builder.
Hey DDB Staff, I think these instances of "ghost" items must have a blank or "null" value in the Container field, or however you have it coded in the database. If so, I suggest using "null" or whatever as the default container value for Equipment, or at least that the web code detect cases like that and automatically set the field to "Equipment", so that items aren't left hanging like this.
Ooh! Ooh! Just a theory, but maybe what happened was that people were using their character sheets at the time that the Containers update rolled out, or had had a web page open to their character sheet while the update occurred, and so then if they added or customized an item or something while they still had the old web code running, it did a database insert without a value to go into the Container field. And so that's how that field could wind up "null" or whatever.

So, I also just checked my character in the DnD Beyond app, and I see the extra daggers, handaxes, and suits of leather armor in Inventory there. The app does not specify a location for these items at all, so I'm guessing that that functionality hasn't been ported to the App yet. The app also allows me to remove these "ghost" items from the inventory, but when I refresh the character in the app, they come back with 2 more daggers, 2 more handaxes, and 1 more suit of leather armor on top of what I already had in inventory. I am now up to 12 daggers, 12 handaxes, and 6 suits of leather armor that I can't completely get rid of, AND my encumbrance is now 180 pounds.
Can someone from the DDB Team please respond that they are aware of the issue, and might get around to looking at a fix at SOME point, please?
I'm also having these issues, but I did kind of find a workaround. I made a copy of my character sheet (which somehow made the issue on the original sheet worse), but the copy shows all the ghost items in the inventory, and I can delete them just fine without issue. Attempting to unequip the now visible ghost items items still caused crashing, but unequipping new items works fine. All successful inventory changes stayed after refreshing.
Another bug I found through this is that the copy lost all items that were anywhere other than equipment. I'm not sure if this is connected, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Yes, I figured out as well that if you make a copy of the character, you can correctly remove the "ghost" items from inventory. However, when you copy a character the individual dice rolls for Manual/Rolled ability scores do not come across in the copied character. The attribute values for STR, DEX, etc. do come across; but not the dice roll group that got you there. And, I like to be able show those 4D6(-lowest dice) rolls should anyone ask to see them: DM or fellow player.
Personal preference, and I get that, but it is still my preference. This should be something that can be fixed by the DDB Team with just a bit of effort on their part. They changed the inventory mechanics around, so the internals of that code/database should be fresh in someone's mind, after all.
I updated the DnDBeyond app on my phone this morning, and tried to remove the ghost items again through the app, and they are still coming back when I refresh my character.
On an update I am no longer wearing/wielding or attuned to the items that are actually in my inventory, so the attack actions listed and the items on the attunement tab are the bugged duplicates.
I now have 4 defenders (2 attuned 2 not) showing up in actions and attunement tab, 2 ring of protection, 2 ring of spell storing.
any attempt to do anything with these items pops the error code and crash
Hey everybody, I'd like you to try to toggle your inspiration twice so it is in the same state as before then refresh.
This has the benefit of being a character cache-breaking action and see if your items are showing up properly after that.
I appreciate your patience as we work through these issues.
Confirmed. That cleaned up all of the ghost items that I have been trying to remove, along with any actions associated with those weapons. Now I just need to go in and re-add what I am supposed to have that is missing from inventory.
Thank you for the Inspirational tip!
Haha! Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

I thought I was the only one....the new update is really jacking up our stuff!!!!
Yeah, they're showing on your (Outlier67's) character sheet as actions, but not in the inventory.

Hey folks - the team is aware of this issue and is working to fix it.
Thank you for the confirmation and update. I appreciate knowing that this issue has been heard by the development team.
