I created a homebrew race as a copy of the tortle to test out my own build tweaking the natural armor. I copied it 1:1 and tried to adjust the natural armor bonus. The Builder actually lets me use the race as an option for a new PC. However I get a window that says:
Character Not Ready!
The current character is not accessible because it is missing either a Race, Class or Ability Scores.
The character has a race, class, and set of ability scores assigned. I suspect the issue is with the copy of the Tortle and if I had to guess something to do with the AC.
I should say I'm past the issue with the PC. For some reason the initial PC I'd created to test the copy of the Tortle was missing a STR value. After I input that, it let me view the character sheet in DDB. I'm still having odd issues with the AC values though.
End of the day, what I want is to have the base AC at say 11 with a max dex modifier of 2. It seems like the character builder doesn't take adjustments to AC intuitive. The tortle uses Set - Minimum Base Armor, but if say your DEX goes over that base then it defaults to 10 + Dex modifier. I've tried SET ARMOR CLASS which also doesn't give the expected result.
I appreciate any insight on the armor class options in the homebrew race customization.
Interesting. Is there a way to have that apply whether wearing armor or not? Also have you seen a full listing of all the options for races? Having a description for what they do would be nice!
I think there is no way to apply a max dex modifier to natural armor because there is no precedent case. And there is no list of what the modifiers do.

Try now. I have modified the armor class as:
SET - Unarmored Armor Class - Fixed Value 1
Hello there! So that did help with the base, but now the MAX DEX modifier to AC doesn't limit the AC to 2.
The problem, I think, is that the max dex modifier is meant for armours, not the natural armour.
