The spell "Sorcerous Burst" and "Chromatic Orb" do not scale properly. The cantrip base damage upgrade is not added to all element types at 5,11, and 17. Ie 2d8 at 5, 3d8 at 11, 4d8 at 17. When you attack, the cantrip base damage is correctly shown for the first type, acid, but for all other damage types, the base damage stays at 1d8–even when casting it at level 16.
For Chromatic Orb, the base damage stays at 3d8 for every element except Acid no matter what spell slot you use.
I was afraid of that. It's incredibly frustrating. I wish DnDBeyond would publish a 'issues upcoming in next patch' or some list of bugs they're currently working on.

It's actually quite helpful: It's a direct answer. Also points out, in a way, that they tend not to go trumpeting about the little fixes they make. That said, major updates go here: Changelog

everyone has the same bug and I can't find any acknowledgement from DnDbeyond that they even know about it, much less are working on a resolution.
These have indeed been passed along to the devs. (I don't know the status beyond that.)
