I have purchased several source books that allow access to various races and monsters, however those tokens are not available in my maps sessions. Ex: Aarakorcra and Kenku are in the Monster Manual but show greyed out in maps and say I don't own the content, which I do. It's really limiting and forcing me to use generic tokens and rename them, when I should be able to just select the appropriate race
I have this EXACT same issue - I even bought the Monster Manual thinking I would have access to them in the Maps - but I do not and I didnt even need to buy the Monster Manual in the first place. I thought it would supply me with the tokens.
I have also noticed this recently, specifically with the Explorers guide to Wildemount monster tokens in particular.
I bought the Udaak and the frost Giant Zombie specifically to use in my campaign. The Udaak used to work because i included it in a "prologue session" and the token was fine in maps. It is only when i bought the zombie giant as a single monster purchase and came to add it to a map that i noticed it was still greyed out, along with the Udaak now for some reason.
I can only hope that it gets resolved eventually as i'm currently having to create homebrew versions for monster i've already bought.
Keep in mind Maps is still in alpha and is in the middle active development, so it is not a completely working tool. Not all books are available on Maps.
If you go to the Markeplace, a book that has compatibility with Maps will have a green icon next to it. If a book does not have that, then it is not integrated with Maps.
I’m experiencing a similar issue. To resolve this problem, you can search for the creature’s/monster's name in the search section. Sometimes when I do this or refresh the page, the problem gets resolved.
Thank you so much! you have literally resolved the issue for me on both the Udaak and the Frost Giant Zombie which are both now appearing as tokens after doing what you suggested. I'm very grateful :-)

This issue extends to shared content. As a DM that has a friend with the Legendary Bundle, we rely on the shared content feature to...have shared content.
When setting up a map in the Maps tool, monster tokens for books that are shared are not available.

Maps is still in alpha develpment, and I think content sharing does not work with Maps yet.

I'm aware its in alpha. Developers are still in need of being informed of what features do not exist and what their clients want to exist. Me stating that it does not work and then you stating that you think it does not work is sort of redundant...
Ah- sorry, was looking at join dates, not posts. Even so, I used to have several tokens available for my Netherdeep campaign that are now unavailable all of a sudden, even though I was using them a few weeks ago for the same game.

Any resolution on this? I have the same issue.
Going to assume this was not corrected yet, I still see this as an issue -
Yes, It is, I still have the issue with fitzbans

Bumping this, just got Both Monster Manual bundles hoping they'd add more tokens to map, but didn't, any further word on this?
Or maybe do the bundles just not add anything to maps at all? Since still got a bunch of stuff greyed out.

I am having this issue. Refreshing doesn't seem to help. I was using a bunch of modrons before, and now they're all greyed out.
Same issue, even with books/adventures listed as "MAPS" compatible.

Same here, years later. Can't use tokens that I already paid for in Explorer's Guide to Wildemount and Call of the Netherdeep.
What do you mean by "years later"? Maps hasn't even been around a year yet? It's still in the early stages of public Alpha
