I created a race with a trait that whenever a player rolls Hit Dice when they level for HP, they can add their Strength modifier in addition to Constitution modifier. One of my players who is playing that race, told me that when he leveled up, the trait was giving him +0 HP. To test it out, I created a class at level 5 with that race and noticed the trait was giving +0 to HP.
When i made the race, i chose Modifier Type: Bonus, Modifier Subtyper:Hit Points per level and Ability Score:Strength for the racial trait. Am i doing this wrong?

That modifier may not be set up to work off abilities.
