Best use I've done was using the 5 item max as a signaling system with the general of a friendly army. Our job was to infiltrate the enemy camp and accomplish three specific goals. I made five coins glow and handed them to him. Every time we accomplished one of our goals, I would use it again on a new coin, causing one of the original five to stop glowing. That way the general knew what we had accomplished, and if all the remaining ones went off in rapid succession, it was a signal that we were in trouble.
I used this for remote signalling for my most recent underwater session. We had a limited number 10 min breath holding potions for the breathers so we split the party and two plasmoids and a war forged did initial exploration. Did that trick to signal there was a safe air compartment.
Later used it as shark bait, I set it to emit the scent of blood.
Yes it does is make "a tiny mundane object" magical by literal and concise reading of the features description: "You can bestow magic on multiple objects, touching one object each time you use this feature, though a single object can only bear one property at a time."
What does "bestow magic" mean? Hrrm.....perhaps...exactly that, it bestows magic. So if a tiny mundane object was bestowed magic, what would it be called? A tiny magic object!!! So, if a Tiny magic object happens to be a dagger, or a dart..Its what? A magic dagger/dart!!!!
The best option is probably the light option, however a dart or dagger that plays "Bullseye" when thrown because you press the button as u throw it would be hilarious.
Aside from the likely already mentioned turning a mundane item into a stink bomb for an unsuspecting person, my DM has been okay with my artificer etching magical patterns onto large coins from her hometown: essentially turning unused currency into palm-sized maps of the city streets and districts for her fellow party members who otherwise would get lost in the urban sprawl.

End of argument.

I like the idea of shooting an opponent with a crossbow bolt that screams continuously so that they must be disadvantaged when trying to hide.
