Hey WotC! I noticed when I was editing my artificer using the new rules, it only offered Legacy spells. Could you edit the character builder to allow the Artificer the new spells? I feel like it got forgotten since it's not in the 2024 Players Handbook. Also, on a different note, I know the Artificer is new, but since you are doing a whole reboot for the other classes, could you maybe add a subclass or two somewhere? All the Player's Handbook classes got full reboots and new subclasses, and the Artificer got forgotten. Please fix the spell problem at least, and the subclasses is just a request I think is fair.
the artificer is from the ebberon books and Tashas not the PHB so it wasn't being updated at this time. the firstp published worlds updates are going to be for the Forgotten Realms so i wouldn't expect an Ebberon or generic update until 2026.
Yes, but can we at least have spells? I get that it was in Tasha's, so they didn't update it, but could we at least have access to the new spells from the 2024 PHB? That's mainly what I wanted.
so a way to do this is make a homebrew copy of your background. There is an option called Additional Spell List there you can add all the spells from the Artificer spell list.
EDIT: this way you will have both on the spell list. but the same amount of prepared spells
EDIT2: you might need to add the origin feat after i can´t get it to work with magic initiate
Thanks! I wish they could just fix the problem, since I feel like something like this is deserving of a patch, but I appreciate the option of homebrewing a fix
I agree that this is something that should have been patched by now. The Bloodhunter is a third-party creation which is also not in the 2024 PHB, but it had its spell list updated already. Leaving the Artificer hanging is just rude, and I don't even play the class.

Wait, really? Blood Hunter gets 2024 versions of spells and the Artificer doesn't? The Artificer is an official class, it should have the official spells! Cure Wounds has literally doubled in effectiveness, and the Artificer is stuck with the out-of-date version?!

Yep, just checked again. When I prepare spells on my Bloodhunter, it shows both 2014 and 2024 spells. When I prepare spells on my Artificer, I only see 2014 spells, still. It makes no sense to me.
