The Artificer class has some fairly complex features, including Infuse Item: the ability to imbue mundane items with certain magical infusions.
To infuse items on your Artificer character, the character must:
Be at least 2nd level, to have learned the Infuse Item class feature.
Have learned at least one infusion.
Levelling up an Artificer from level 1 to level 2 and learning an infusion
In the animated gif below, I have gone into the character builder for my level 1 Artificer and I do the following:
Increase the character level from 1 to 2.
Learn the "Repeating Shot" infusion.
Adding an Infusion to the Character Sheet
In the animated gif below, I am looking at the character sheet for my Artificer, who is now level 2, and I do the following:
Go to the EQUIPMENT tab and then select the Infusions section within the Equipment tab.
Click on the Infusion I want to use - in this case the Repeating Shot infusion I learned above.
In the sidebar, I click on the CHOOSE button to select which mundane item to apply the infusion to.
I select the character's Light Crossbow, then click on the button to create the infusion.
I then click back on the ALL section of the Equipment tab, to view my character's equipment - this shows that the Light Crossbow now has the property "Infusion: Repeating Shot"
Next I click on the ACTIONS tab and can see that the Crossbow has also updated there, with the +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls, as well as noting the repeating shot infusion as a property.
Since artificers can share the infused items with others after infusing... Is there a way to add those infused items to a non-artificer character sheet (for the infusions that aren't just replicating existing magic items from the DMG/XGTE)?

Not currently.
Thanks for the clarification. Would definitely be good to have. (I know it was possible during the UA iteration since they were implemented at the time as "magic items" rather than a separate sort of thing.)
It seems that you are able to have more infusions up and running then your maximum infusion score, my level 9 artificer knows 6 infusions and can have 3 active at the same time but it seems i can have more then 3 active when i infuse the items on my sheet.

Like a lot of things on the DNDB character sheets - just because you can do them - doesn't mean they follow the rules. It's up to you to double check you're following the rules.
1) is there currently a way to add homebrew items to the artificer infusion list. If for example I homebrew a wand that when used has a chance of making a target fall prone randomly for 10 seconds after a failed saving throw and deem it a common item, could I add that to the infusions an artificer player could select from?
2) It says in the artificer infusion list that if you have XGtE you can pick from the common magic items list there in the infusions list. If I buy the magic items section for digital XGtE will this populate the list automatically?
Thanks
(The artificer class is my favorite, so glad they're officially back for 5E)

Homebrew infusions are not currently possible, as far as I know (same with warlocks and Eldritch Invocations). This may be possible when the homebrew revamp happens: https://ddb.ac/feature-roadmap
Should appear after the tab for attunement in the equipment section. Check to make sure you have selected your infusions from the level editor first as well or they will not appear.

Sweet, was trying to sort infusions out the other day when I leveled up. Nice

Gotcha, thank you!
This might be a good thread to like "sticky" because I hadn't seen it before and it sure is useful
This thread is "pinned" which means it will always show as the top thread in the Artificer class forum. 🙂

I have two questions regarding this:

I cannot seem to see the Infuse tab on the equipment of my lvl 2 Artificer

Yes I have selected the following:
fusion: Enhanced Defense (Special)
Infusion: Enhanced Weapon (Special)
Infusion: Repeating Shot (Special)
But still nothing appears on the Equipment
Link the character - maybe a mod can take a look.

Because it's public I can see it - I can also see you're using the UA version of Artificer - not the released version. That's probably why.
