Does it really not work for SS? I know if you pick a non-artificer cantrip, it won't, but if you take a cantrip that's on the artificer spell list, like fire bolt, wouldn't it work for that?
With Spell Sniper, the cantrip learned is essentially a "Non-class" spell. Similar to spells that are learned through Race. The Artillerist's Arcane Firearm explicitly only applies damage bonus to Artificer spells. So if Tiefling Artillerist was to hit an enemy with Hellish Rebuke, they are unable to apply the damage bonus to that spell.
That said, coming back to this thread, I'm reminded of something I did when playing as a Warlock and I took the Spell Sniper Feat...
The text of Spell Sniper is such that any spell that includes a spell attack can be the one learned from the feat. So, as a Warlock who was focused heavily on hitting enemies from range with Eldritch Blast, I chose to learn Shocking Grasp through Spell Sniper. It doesn't benefit at all from Spell Sniper, but it gave me a melee option that would also make it easier to escape from nearby enemies, and added to my already impressive volume of cantrips (I took pact of the tome).
So, for an artillerist, they needn't select a spell that's primarily meant for dealing damage. Ideally they would already know Firebolt as an Artificer, then use the SS feat to learn a spell with more utility... whether they want Shocking Grasp to help make escapes, or something like Chill Touch to shut down healing or undead, or perhaps ray of frost to slow down an enemy.

If you're asking whether Spell Sniper works for artificer spells? Of course. The first two bullets are universal to any attack-roll spell you cast regardless of class. You can pick a wizard cantrip to get Spell Sniper to grant you an Intelligence-based damage cantrip, but when you select Spell Sniper and the attendant class, you're selecting a spell of that class. "Artificer Spells" are spells granted by the Artificer's Spellcasting class feature, or by feats that specifically grant access to artificer spells. Gaining Fire Bolt from Spell Sniper: Wizard means your Firebolt is a wizard spell and doesn't work with the Arcane Firearm or Alchemical Savant. The fact that Fire Bolt is on the artificer spell list doesn't matter - you didn't acquire it as an artificer spell, but as a wizard spell instead.
Is that the answer you were looking for? if not, remind me what the question is, the system doesn't tell me which of my year-old posts you were asking about.
Tasha's Cauldron of Everything gave us the artificer initiate feat. Magic initiate wizard is worthwhile using those cantrips for utility. Races that give bonus cantrips are worthwhile.
A high elf or forest gnome, or mark of making human, or variant human for the bonus feat early takes the pressure off cantrips.
