I'll be DMing a CoM druid, and my recollection of what happens when a druid's wild shape runs out of HP is from the 2014 edition and I can't find the answer in the 2024 rules.
The rules are defined in the description of the Wild Shape feature in the Player's Handbook here.
The idea of the Wild Shape form having its own HP no longer exists in the 2024 rules. Instead, the Druid retains their own HP total and gains temporary HP equal to their Druid level. (Circle of the Moon provides a feature that overrides this to 3x the Druid level.)
If the Druid drops to 0 HP while in Wild Shape, they become Unconscious and start making death saves as normal. Being Unconscious (or Incapacitated by any other means) knocks them out of Wild Shape.
